Nice kit for accent, fill or main lighting. Includes a really nice, zippered nylon carry bag and features a tripod that gives an overall height of about 7'-9" when fully extended. Can operate on one of two power sources: an included AC power supply or 2 Sony NP-F batteries (not included). The AC adapter's cord is over 13' overall, but only 44" of that is the low-power side of the power pack, which means your power pack will be dangling mid-air. The power switch on the ring has off and 2 other settings. One is for AC use, the other is for when using the batteries. The kit also includes a few tripod, shoe-mount looking accessories but I'm not what they're for and the includes operator guide doesn't give any clue. Having been around pro photography for some time I can tell you that while this will be a nice kit for home and casual use it is far from being professional grade in materials and durability.

Unfortunately my list of Pros is quite a bit shorter that the list of Cons for this light.Pros: The light is very bright at 100%, to the point it can be difficult to face at short range if using something like a webcam with a wide angle lens. Of course you can dial the brightness back to a comfortable level, and having the extra brightness available is nice if you are using the light indirectly as an overhead source or bouncing off a reflector. The color temperature adjustment works well, and the single encoder knob has a push button that toggles the control function between brightness and color temp. Note that a ring light with this large diameter will produce very large eye circle reflections unless you increase the distance and use a camera with zoom capability.Cons: Unfortunately I found this light to be have two minor annoyances and a couple major shortcomings, all of which are mechanical design issues.The first of the minor annoyances is that although the knurled encoder knob is little over 1/2" deep, more than half of the knob perimeter is surrounded by the plastic housing, leaving only 3/16" exposed. If you try adjusting the knob by reaching around the light it is a little awkward to get a grip. Aggravating this, the knob on mine has quite a bit of friction with a plastic-rubbing-on-plastic feel, so you do need to work a little to turn it.The second minor annoyance is the way that the translucent white diffusers snap onto the ring housing. My light arrived with the diffusers popped off and rattling around in the box. I attempted to snap them on and discovered that they have over-and-under flanges on the ends that encourage you to snap them on in a clockwise sequence. This is no big deal once you know about it, but I kept having difficulty seating the bottom segment until I realized that it needs to go on first as its location is keyed to the housing. With the bottom segment installed first, the rest are easily installed by continuing to work clockwise from there.My biggest beef with this light is the the weakness of the stand itself and the inadequate plastic clamp that attaches it to the stand. You will probably only want to use the included stand for holding the ring light vertically or at a very slight angle. The tubes of the stand will start to bow and the base can get a little tipsy if you try to use the light at an angle for down lighting, particularly if you don't have one leg of the base oriented in the direction of the offset weight. The ratcheting angle adjustment knob does imply that you should be able to use it horizontally but I found this to be a little risky.However the most disappointing part of all is the way the ring light clamps onto the stands spigot. The not-detachable spigot on the top of the stand has a short 1/4-20 threaded stud in the end that seem to prevent the ring light clamp from seating fully onto the spigot. Consequently the light goes on crooked when the knob is tightened. The attachment is very mushy, and the end of the knob's threaded stud leaves deep gouges in the aluminum spigot. I haven't checked the fit on my other light stands, and I won't if it's going to mess up the spigot adapters on those too. I don't mind discarding the cheap stand, but I do wish that the clamp on the ring light wasn't equally cheap.To use this light I'm going to have to look at machining a metal insert for the plastic clamp that more closely fits a standard light stand spigot. And I'll probably drill a hole in the tip of the knob stud as well to allow addition of a non-marring tip to prevent damage to my other light stands that are more capable of supporting this light.Electrically this seems like a good light but the housing, mount, and stand are substandard in my opinion.
