My dog loves frisbee and balls and any other retrievable toy. But, this is the bark'n best and he absolutely can't get enough HurriK9! The mere mention of the product causes doggie hysteria around here.

Our dog goes crazy when we bring out the thrower. In calm, warm weather they fly about 75 yards. When the wind is blowing and the temperature is 40 degrees Fahrenheit or lower they do not fly well at all. They do not hold up well if your dog is a chewer or likes to play “keep away”. Our dog has chewed up six of these in a very short time. They are best suited for a soft mouthed dog that seldom chews up toys. They fly so well and our dog loves chasing them so we pay the price when she chews them into pieces.

This is the perfect toy for a hard core Chocolate Labrador hunting dog. He will leap into the water to get these things continuously, no matter how cold out. Indoors, he is always especially proud when he can catch on in his mouth! They do get beat up from his teeth, and he has chewed one up, but generally they are holding up.

My dog loves it. When he is not playing with the freesby. This is he's toy.

I cannot say enough positive things about this product. Obviously, not just the rings, but the whole HurriK9 system. I buy it for gifts now for friends with Labs and Goldens. My friend's neighbor bought one for her KIDS. Lol. We prefer the standard rings, even though they're not as sturdy as the thicker version. Just don't let your dog chew on the rings and put them up when done playing. They really do last as long as you make them. Occasionally, though, after one gets dirty and slobber to where I decide I don't want to touch it any longer (they do wash well, by the way), I let my dog have a go at it and destroy it into small pieces. Definitely don't let them eat the foam or destroy it unsupervised. Anyhoo... We had one when my dog was a puppy. My husband accidentally left the gun part available for chewing, and the rubber band also deteriorated. I used a Frisbee for awhile and then finally bought another one. I didn't realize how much my dog loved it. She went bananas upon sight of the new one and now has her daily exercise with her HurriK9. It also comes with a replacement rubber band. It will inevitably deteriorate over time. My one friend's dog loved it as a water toy. I get rave reviews from everyone I gift this to. It's the perfect dog toy. Just perfect. And the price is very reasonable, especially for the hours and hours of enjoyment you receive in return. Do not deny your dog of this! They deserve it. And a tired dog is a happy dog.

The HurriK9 is a great toy for exercising your dog. The rings really do fly far, however they do have limitations. The ring's flight is influenced by headwinds, tailwinds, and extreme cold. A strong headwind will prevent the optimal flight distance of 100+ ft while a strong tailwind will significantly increase the distance. A strong tailwind could be problematic if the play area is too small and the ring sails outside of the safe boundary. I've also noticed, to a slight degree, that barometric pressure and/or high humidity factors in on the flight length. I do emphasize 'slight' though. Extreme cold affects the ring's flexibility and when dog drool freezes and accumulates on the ring it weights it down and shortens the flight (usually its too dang cold to play outside for that long). Overall the HurriK9 lives up to its claim. The HurriK9 is durable but I use it several times a day so it gets a lot of use. I average about an hour a day, every day. I suggest getting a repair kit (replacement bands) to have them handy. I replaced my bands only once in two years, which is a good track record on it's durability despite my high usage.

Review update: the company contacted me and sent me a new launcher with the more durable rings. Wow! What amazing customer service. I was so impressed they took the time to resolve my issue. I received the new product and have no issues with the launcher and the more durable rings are much better. My dog absolutely loves this toy. He barks like crazy every time I take it out. I highly recommend this with the more durable rings for any dog that likes to fetch. Thank you HurriK9 for standing behind your product and making a fan with your awesome serviceMy dog loves chasing the rings but it has several flaws. First, the rings are slightly more durable then styrofoam. My dog ripped through one after a few times retrieving it. Second, the launcher has a tubing that comes apart constantly. It can be put back together but it's really annoying to stop play to fix it. Finally, it doesn't fly 100 ft. Maybe 40 feet at most. While it is a great idea and my dog loves it, it needs to be improved for it to be worth $40

These rings are excellent. They fly far and the dogs love them. Sometimes too much. And then I have to buy new ones. But they love the toy so much I'll probably keep getting them as I need them. They fly way better than the sturdier model.
