I have 3 Reolink systems so far- I will be installing these for an ongoing project. I think I know what to expect for this but will be updating this review after 6 months

This is not one more of the little video over IP to your phone kind of setups. This is a proper multi camera setup for installation. Cameras out of the box are wired via ethernet to the recorder. Quite a lot of physical setup involved. Once installed however it is easy to use and operate. Excellent as a system.

This is a true NVR server with cameras and 100ft of ethernet cable. Setup isn't that difficult and the camera quality is fantastic. Even the night time video capture is clear and great. Very happy!

I haven't done a permanent install yet, but I hooked this up to see the camera quality and understand how it works. The camera angle is wide enough to cover all of the areas I want covered. The unit also has room to expand and add cameras.Note that the cameras are static, so if you want to remotely aim or pan, these 4 included won't do that. However, the view is wide enough for my application to cover what I intend to cover, so that doesn't matter to me.Image quality has great detail, and the two-way communication is a great security feature beyond just a camera. Having the ability to immediately interaction with a potential intruder increases the likelihood that they will just leave instead of continuing with whatever plans they had.Sustem set up is straightforward and fairly simple for anyone with even a little electronic experience, but most folks will likely prefer some assistance on the physical installation unless they are OK with exposed cables running through the areas where the cameras get installed.

I think REOLINK makes a great security system. The software, the App for your phone, The on-line updates, they really have got it figured out. I love it all , except for one thing. The cameras have two kinds of lights built into them. First there are the two infrared lights that come on automatically at night and stay on until it is light outside in the morning. There is also a white light that comes on if the camera senses motion and an alarm or event is triggered. The white light is what gives you the nighttime color video. The problem I have with the cameras is that the lights are mounted INSIDE of the hard plastic dome. This sounds like a good idea until you see what this does to the nightvision of the cameras. Just look at the nighttime picture as viewed from my porch, the first picture is with the camera cover or dome removed and you can see the pic is quite clear and I was super happy with the clarity. The second picture from the porch was taken with the camera dome installed as it was designed to be. I tried 3 different cameras but always got the same cloudy results, Carefully cleaning the lens inside and out helped clear it up a little but no matter what, the image is very cloudy as compared to using it with the dome off and when the white light came on, no matter what light intensity I had it set to, it was even worse. I think it's a bit like driving your car at night except your headlights are mounted INSIDE your car shining through the windshield causing reflections and hampering you night vision. This is really a big deal and I'm sorry I got the camera type that needs that plastic cover. Since I'm using them underneath covered areas, I'm just operating them without the cover or lens and I'm sure that's not a good idea but I like the rest of the system and software so much I plan to buy different cameras if/when they fail. I should also say that the cameras have FANTASTIC daytime clarity with or without the dome installed. I can literally zoom in and count the ants on my sidewalk!I am not an engineer but perhaps if the lights were mounted in the frame on the outside of the dome this would improve optics of the camera and the poor night vision.Other than this issue, it is a great system and I am super happy with it as long as I keep those domes off.

The Reolink 4K Security Camera System is a good starter system with a bunch of solid features. It is vandal resistant (not vandal proof) and provides color video and very clear pictures. It is a power over ethernet system which simplifies the install process. Like some others have said the issue is the white night lights that when activated shines back into the lens. This causes the picture to have an awful glare to it, making the video not as clear. The reason for this happening is due to the design of the camera itself. Being that the lights are housed inside the clear dome, the light when turned on will reflect onto the interior of the clear dome and shine back into the lens. Other than that, the system is solid and well built.
