Worked well for my project. Blade kind of loose in the adapter.

Bought this to use with a file attachment for my Ryobi reciprocating saw. Not sure why I didn't think of buying one of these years ago... it's a huge time saver.

I didn't expect much for the price. But it's not a bad tool. I wish the piece that mounted into the recip saw was more rigid. It wobbles and walks all over the place, and it's worse when you put an attachment on it.

To use this tool works perfectly on my Milwaukee M12 (cordless) "Hackzall" reciprocating saw. HOWEVER, in order to make it work required grinding a arc of about 6 mm diameter and about 2mm clearance on either side of the forward metal bracket on the Hackzall to accommodate the screw head on the tip of the RCT-A10. Otherwise, is this opening is not ground into the Milwaukee Hackzall, then the tool cannot be inserted deep enough to lock into the Hackzall blade holder. As to durability, it seems inevitable that the weakest link in this tool — the steel fitting plate that is bolted into the head of the RCT-A10 — could break if the tool is subjected to sideways tweaking while on use. Some reviews mentions this. However, the tool does appear well built, and this part is tough steel, so this might be more of an issue with user skill. To Reciprotool's credit, they include a second fitting, and this too is already reasonably priced, so overall this sesms a great deal.Used this with my Milwaukee Hackzall on really tough Epoxy-sealed edges between a rudder and the skeg forward of it, to remove areas of epoxy that had become populated by barnacles. This area I could only be reached by a tool like this (and the sanding adapter)! It also will work to grind off old paint from below my keel, which normally is all but inaccessible to any other tool I know of!Highly suggest this for others contemplating boat work!

Works great! Great idea! I needed something like this... wondered if it existed... searched on the internet and IT DOES! I use it with the file mount for dressing lawn mower blades on my Skag zero turn commercial unit and my DR walk behind Brush mower. These machines cut everything and require frequent dressing of the blade which this makes quick work of!

At first glance, this adapter looks like a good idea, and appears to be pretty well made. The reality, however, is this...I spent about 90 minutes modifying it because it didn’t work out of the package due to multiple problems. First off, it is too wide to fit through the slot on the “foot” of my reciprocating saw, so I had to do a lot of grinding and filing on both the adapter and also by widening the slot in the foot of the saw. The next problem was the piece that you insert into the blade holder of your saw...it is significantly wider than a reciprocating saw blade, and also, the profile wasn’t cut correctly to fit the blade holder, requiring more filing and grinding. So it feels like it’s pretty well made out of the package, but really, it is not, because it doesn’t fit in multiple ways. Finally, I got everything working, but by the time you multiply a little play at both connections of this adapter, you’ve got a pretty sloppy connection to the hex-shank tool that you’ve inserted into the end of this. That probably doesn’t matter if you’re using it to connect a wire brush, but it’s less than ideal if you’re using it with a file. It’s also pretty heavy for not much benefit (if the weight of your toolbags is something that matters to you). I can't rate the durability, because I just got it today, and I've only used it for about a minute after doing all those modifications just to get it to work...but I decided to go back to a standard hand rasp.

I've been around tools all my life, including reciprocating saws. I thought this was a great idea and it does work well - but there is a loss of control due to the extension tip and then the length of the tool attachment that you connect to it. I purchased the adapter, both regular and stainless steel brushes and the rasp attachments. The adapter fit well into the collect of the saw and the quick release is a plus. My adapter was not in line with saw since no matter which way I turn the tool in the adapter, the attachment is not in line and off my a position. With an attachment in the adapter the whole thing projected a good 6" from the tip of the tool, that added to 3000 stokes per minute and you got your hands full. Once you get this wobbling demon up against something it does the job pretty well and it is alot easier than wire brushing by hand. I see that Lowes has the Kobalt version of this adapter on the discontinued items rack, along with the attachments. I have several of the Spyder brand attachments that connect to the saw without an adapter and prefer to use them whenever possible.
