THe powder room in our rental apartment has a pedestal sink with no escutcheons on any of the sink pipes or the toilet. We bought two of these for the hot and cold water in the sink and they were easy to install and look so good that we are buying another one for our toilet, Yes, the price is ridiculous for plastic, but it's so much better than any other solution,

Was easy to install around existing fixture and, on quick inspection, looks like metal. Warning, however, this plastic does not tolerate contact with bathroom cleaners containing hydrogen peroxide. It will turn the "chrome" plastic completely white requiring replacement.

They put a sticker right on the face that left a mess when it was peeled off.The sticker residue and paper would not wash off with water or soap. Tried to use an adhesive remover and the shiny coat wiped off immediately.Honestly, even if the exterior hadn't wiped off, this thing looks so cheap that I probably wouldn't have used it anyway.Highly recommend looking elsewhere.

Once you crack the collar open the plastic coating flakes off excessivly and is very noticeable.Very cheap material. I would not recommend this product!

I bought this to replace an escutcheon in my bathroom for the commode pipe. I have a steel pipe, but this CTS half-inch fit perfectly. It felt flimsy, but looks really nice after installation. It took me 25 seconds to install this on my piping. (The prior escutcheon was cut off with metal scissors.) I question how long it may last because it is plastic, but it will take less than a minute to change out. I would definitely buy again. My biggest issue is the price because it seems fairly overpriced. However, I cannot find this in any store, so this is the best option.

Used three of these as replacement escutcheons on a toilet cold water supply line (from the floor), and hot and cold water sink supply lines (from the wall). All 1/2" copper. Some reviewers say they are flimsy and cheaply made. I guess maybe you could say that? But it's not like they're DOING anything except sitting there hiding a hole and being decorative! There are no moving parts to break, and they are certainly NOT going to rust like the originals. And, in my opinion, they look a heck of a lot better than the metal, hinged, split-flange type of escutcheon. The key is to split the plastic ring from the back with a utility knife. There's already a groove there for it. Can't see how one would attempt to separate the ring by hand, as others have tried. I did not put tape on the chromed face prior to installation, and I didn't have any problem with the finish coming off or scratching. My only beef is the price! $7.00 each at the time of this review. For a no-moving-parts piece of plastic! But the options out there are very limited, so what are you gonna do!?

This is exactly what I needed. We have a house near the ocean and the regular metal escutcheons always rust and look terrible. And to change them you need to shut off the water and take off pipe fittings. This is cheaply made, but it's plastic with a chrome coating so it should last forever once in place. You need to be careful when separating the plastic. If you turn it over and use a razor blade or utility knife to score the line where you separate the plastic so you can fit it over your pipe it separates easily. You can also cover it with electric masking tape so you don't scratch it when installing.

I have used these before and great around a pipe makes it look finished, clean and sealed. Very easy to slip on.Thsese now come perforated instead of the spit actually being apart so you have to bend and twist a big to separate the slit. That is a bit annoying because it is just thin cheap plastic you don't want to break in half. They use to come already separated. Oh well, that is how it is today.

This was needed when I had to perform an in-wall plumbing repair that required removal of wall tile, necessitating cutting off the metal, one-piece escutcheon. Without removing the nipple or shutoff valve it isn't possible to put a new one on. Since I preferred to not risk creating a new leak, this split type is the perfect product.Easily installed, and looks pretty good (just make sure to position the "split" vertically, under the supply nipple). The only complaint is the price for a small, chromed piece of plastic. But, this is a case where you just "pay the man" and finish the job.
