I will add this meter to the water quality monitoring I do during my aquatic weed treatments in our beautiful lake next year. While this level of testing is not required, I am adding these parameters to assure the community I am watching all variables.

This meter comes calibrated right out of the box, and so far have not needed to calibrate yet. Reading are accurate within +/- .02 so far when compared to reading from my other meter. This is an extremely handy tool when you range of plants your growing need to follow a strict growth medium composition wether it be hydroponic or soil based. I have 3 meter at this point and this one seems to be my go to for information since it can be used to read the levels of 6 different sources. Highly recommend.

I got this to pH Test my pool and aquarium, primarily. It has a ton of other functions as listed in the description, but honestly I would have paid the cost for just pH, temp and salt readings. It comes with pre-installed batteries in a waterproof housing, which is a great idea, given how often I've dropped pH strips right into the pool. I have yet to drop this reader into the water so I'm not sure how well the waterproofing works; I'm reluctant to test it because the device is so handy I'd rather not find out that mine isn't completely waterproof and have to order a replacement. The batteries themselves are button style mini batteries, which might be a little less convenient than "A" style long batteries, but I actually prefer them because they are lighter. I don't think the tool draws very much power so I doubt I'll be replacing them more than once every year or so, which, fine, I'll order the buttons online. The screen is lit, which is a great feature, and it's very readable. It also has a 'hold' function so you don't have to keep pressing down on a button to retain data you've just collected. This is great if I want to take a reading and then compare notes with my husband from whenever he's tested last.So far I'm really pleased with this machine. I have pH strips which I hate to use, and had been doing drop pH tests for the last year or so, which is time consuming. This tester makes my life a lot easier.

The water tester runs on 4 LR44 button batteries that are pre-installed. I found 6 sachets to calibrate pH reading. The LCD screen has a bright backlight which lets me read the results in the dark. It has a hold button to lock the reading on the screen. I know the reading is locked when I see the letter H on the top right of the screen. With other meters, I usually have to press and hold a button to keep the reading. I can change the temperature with the same button between Fahrenheit and Celsius but I have to press and hold it for five seconds. I see the unit change when I release the button after holding it for 5 seconds. To change what to measure, I press the mode/cal button. I can measure the pH, ORP (Oxidation-Reduction Potential), TDS, EC, temperature and salt. According to the manual, the meter is EC and TDS factory calibrated (12.88 mS/cm). So I don’t have to recalibrate it. The manual explains in detail how to do calibrations but I haven’t done any yet. I use it mostly to test my RO water and for my aquarium maintenance. The meter is large and I measured its length to be about 7 ½ inches and it’s over 1 ½ inches at its widest. On the back of the meter I can see the CE logo so I know it conforms to the standards of the EU market.
