They're quite sturdy and perfect for my main kitchen counter application.Construction plus:The jacks do not rotate - so there are no rotating internal electrical connections which could be a reliability/hazard concern in use cases where current draw is high (e.g., a toaster or microwave).Nice stealth (unadvertised) feature:Each side of 3 jacks is fed by *one* of the two plugs. When oriented vertically, the bottom plug powers the left side jacks; the top plug powers the right side jacks. This can be very handy in applications where you have an outlet box in which one outlet is always live and the other is wall-switched for a lamp. I have actually used this feature in another application where I have two lamps plugged into one side and two other items plugged into the other side.

What I like: the outlets are on either side. This is pretty good for getting furniture close to the wall.Now what I don't like: The smell. These things smell like burning plastic whether or not they're plugged in and the smell never goes away. That's bad because it's the same electrical burn smell you would normally smell when an electrical device is shorting out.Like another reviewer, I opened both of mind up. I was both made more confident but also a little more wary by what I found. These things are cheaply built. It's reflective when you plug a two prong plug into one. The plugs want to sag because there's no pressure against the two brass straps that the prongs slide in between. The prong for the ground is secure but not for the two other wires. The other concern is internal as well. The wires all had a single strand unsecured. Why is this a problem? Because the strand is long enough to short on the ground or the other wire.So, even though the wires were secure and had a good, solid connection to the crimped connector, they had a wire that could potentially short out or power the ground with another wire.I love the design. Six outlets on either side. I hate the cheap engineering and manufacturing.

I like this style. When plugged into the wall the outlets are on the sides. Works good when behind a bable or chair.

Works great in tight places. When space is at a premium this saves you a couple of inches putting furniture against a wall.

I'm so glad I found these Oviitech outlet extenders! They've completely transformed my workspace behind my desk. The side-facing outlets are perfect for plugging in my laptop charger, lamp, and other devices without taking up valuable desk space. They're also surprisingly sturdy, and I have no worries about them coming loose or breaking.Highly recommend!

The clearance to the power plug by our bed is kind of terrible, but one of these really helps. I was able to wire some cables behind the bed without too much of a problem. Construction is very basic, plastic and simple internals. Each side of the unit matches either the top or bottom receprocal, which we needed because the way our apartment is wired the light switch is on the bottom but not the top.
