I’m a frame carpenter. Used this square for less than an hour and the magnet holding the edge guide fell out. It’s a gimmicky piece of garbage. Save your money and just use a good old empire square.

I was disappointed to find out that the heel doesn't lock onto the square. It slips on easily - and slips off just as easily. Unless I rig up a way to secure it - or just glue it on - I pretty sure it will fall off on a regular basis and then the square is useless. I guess for $13.00 what can you expect.

I used a speed square for years when I worked out in the field.I use this in my shop now for drawing and making cuts. You really can't use a speed square for drawing so I enjoy this more than the speed square.

I have used speed squares before but this had a nice addibility with a small torpedo level which is removable.

A good speed square for a DIYer.1. Nice compact design for small measurements2. Steel body construction so you can be sure it wont lose its measuring capabilities3. The speed square measures correct, so you can be confident of that4. The bubble level for me was slightly off (hence one star down). May be I got the bad one. So, I am not going to use that, but i have few of those5. I liked that the plastic black attachment is detachable, that gives it the flexibility to use it without it6. The small scale is usefulOverall, a good tool, but the bubble level is not reliable (atleast for me)

This is a nice, well painted, heavy duty speed square.The build quality is very good. The coating feels thick and well applied. The markings are both painted and indented, so they should stand up to years of use. The sliding paddle locks into place firmly, allowing you to draw straight lines down a long length of wood.A good speed square is one of the very basic tools of wood working and carpentry. A good one like this will last you for years.
