This did the job this time. It pulled my yoke, once I found a bolt that would work it the extremely uncommon thread. ( 7/16UNF Seat belt bolt fit but was to short so put a socket on the end of the bolt to make it work)Upon torquing my crush sleeve the unit stretch and deformed, but I got the job done. I'm not sure if it will do the job again without breaking. If it was half the price it would be more suitable for the quality.

I was working on a F150 9.75 rear. None of the hole lined up. I had to use a burr bit to make it fit. I put lube of the bolt and it started bending the holder. The tool looks like it was cut on a plasma table and never harden. The metal is thick but is was soft.

This is the kind of tool that simply makes one's life a little easier. As others have noted, the edges are a little abrupt which is common with laser or plasma cutting. It's thick steel, my 1/2" ratchet fit well and it will do the trick when I need it next. I like it.

This is a great pinion holder. I used it to Regear the axles in my jeep. On my 8.25 inch rear end it requires about 300 ft lbs of torque to crush the crush sleeve on the pinion. This holder held the pinion still great while I used two 4 ft cheater bars to torque the nut down. This holder is better than a different one that I purchased and returned. This one is made of hardened steel. The one I sent back was made of soft stainless. This holder was much tougher. The only complaint I have is that the 1/2" ratchet hole was oversized and stripped out. Not a big deal since it also had a 3/4" ratchet hole which is sized correctly and can handle more torque anyway. There is also a tab you can use a piece of pipe on. It's a great tool if you are doing rear-end work. It's one of those tools that is worth its weight in gold when you need it. I could see this holding up to a lot of use as well.

Tool seems solid enough. Enough points for wrench attachment/leverage. A little rough, could use some de-burring, as mentioned by other reviews. Nifty design.Product shows a bolt, the bolt IS NOT INCLUDED. Source your own, according to application.

If you've ever tried to remove, install, or set the preload of a pinion nut you know what a headache this can be trying to hold it with something like whatever the biggest pipe wrench you have is. It slips, it falls off, you need someone to hold it while you turn the nut...This thing eliminates all that.Just bolt it onto the pinion flange, stick a breaker bar in either drive hole let it rest against the floor or frame of the vehicle, and start cranking on the nut. If you've pulled the nut and want to use this to pull the pinion off you don't have to disassemble and reset, just drop the "bowtie" into the similarly shaped hole with a 1/2-20 bolt in the threaded hole (not supplied but a common thread, I'd recommend a greased grade 8), turn it counter-clockwise and the bowtie will lock behind the puller plate and allow you to pull the pinion flange off.Oh, and I've seen these made of 1/4" steel, this one is plasma cut out of slightly heavier than 3/8" steel and then cadmium coated to resist rust.
