I've been using this phone for years and bought this used one to have an extra phone and base station. If the one I have now ever fails I want to keep using exactly the same thing again. My preference is to use mostly speaker phone and the receiver works great as a small wireless speaker phone I can carry around the house with me.If you have a VoIP device a cheap ATA device will allow you to use your VoIP with this great land line style phone. You don;t; have to buy and expensive new digital phone.

This was a used cordless from Amazon Warehouse deals. Arrived in almost new condition. Was able to download set up instructions from the internet. Very pleased with the condition and price.

The phone is having difficulties charging and is not in the nice condition it was said to be in. Buttons were worn off and it looked a little dirty and not cleaned before shipping.

Everything arrived as I expected. The batteries were able to be charged and operational. No problems.I used this as another extension phone but wanted another base type charging unit, per my preference. *Only one base can be connected to one group at a time, so phone line can connect to only one base per pairing group. The base charger allowed me to use the wall mount method that I desired. Most probably would prefer just an extra phone with desktop charger but basically the same price so I got the one that allows for wall mounting. You will need to also purchase the wall hanger which comes seperately. I already had one so did not order. It works.

I bought this phone about 13 months ago and I've been happy with it until recently. I've not had the issues with recharging the battery or the screen going blank and rebooting (yet). But about a week or so ago, the sound from the ear piece began fading in the middle of a conversation (or a conf call for work) so that I could barely hear the caller. They apparently could hear me fine. I've owned two other Panasonic phones and they've both worked great - I was very happy with their performance. I think I had them about 6 - 7 years each and the battery wasn't holding a charge anymore but the phone essentially worked. I find everything these days from appliances to electronics is made like absolute JUNK! That's how companies are making money - seeling cheap crap from China that breaks after a short amount of time. I think that no matter what brand you buy, you're doomed to buy junk. I don't even know what phone I should buy b/c in about a year, I'll be back on here to buy another one. Waste of money...

The Good:These phones are attractive, lightweight, have a socket for a headset plug-in, a belt clip, speaker phone & Talking Caller ID & answering machine. It is these features that kick it up to 3 stars, otherwise it would get a 1 star rating. Panasonic had always been a good brand. I don't know how other brands rate in comparison. I had another Panasonic phone that never had a problem, not one. I had an old Panasonic radio that fell off the back end of a motorcycle, had all the knobs, handle & antenna busted off, yet still received a radio signal! I was impressed! Had a home theater/CD player/tuner system too that lasted a good 10 years before starting to die off bit by bit.The Bad:These phones seem like crap in comparison to my previous Panasonic phone. I have the same problems as others: unexpected blank screens, short battery life before it needs a recharge or not recharging at all, compared to my older phone, no connection to base at times even when it is right up against the base. These problems are sporadic, not consistent. I've learned to tolerate & live with the glitches, but it's annoying to deal with. Time will tell, if Panasonic is slipping in quality. Reviews of their other non-phone products might give some insight to the brand-name. Perhaps the problem is with the new digital technology itself & not Panasonic's manufacturing quality? I remember some complaints with their DVD players too.Nutshell:I'll read the one star ratings of anything I buy from here on out to look for consistent problem patterns as the digital phones seem to have.Update 2011:I went to a yard sale and bought some old panasonic phones & quit using these. They are just crap. Don't waste your money on this model.

Very good phone---any questions re setup answered by Panasonic Tech Support---voice quality on caller/id could be clearer but it is acceptable--this is why I rated 4 stars---voice quality excellent--- note: if you think you might want another handset, order the unit with 2 handsets---we purchased with only one, then decided to order an additional handset, but by then there was almost a two month wait (and it costs $20 more to do it that way.)
