Well worth the money. Wish I’d purchased years ago!

Nice set. As good as the more expensive ones. Presented well enough to be a gift, but more importantly they work well and consistently. My only gripe is that just like everybody else the lead they include is too hard for woodworking, but that just puts them in good company even if I don't like it.

With the extra lead and a hard case, pencils were better than I expected

I have been wearing a Pica pencil on my hip for years as a remodeler.I wasn't sure what to expect of this brand, but I tried them out and here are my thoughts after real world use on the jobsite..These are about the same size as the Pica brand, so they felt good in my hand and there wasn't any getting used to the feel period at all. One thing I actually really really liked about these pencils over the Pica pencils was the little click feeling when you put the pencil back in the sheath. It just lets you know that it's locked back in place, and I never worried about it falling out accidentally because it snaps into place. That's a big design improvement that I was impressed by.The plastic it's made with is a bit lighter, but it doesn't feel like it's cheap. I had one in my pocket and one on my toolbelt and they both held up to the abuse I put them through and functioned the same as when I started.Another thing I really liked was the regular lead. I actually prefer this lead over the Pica lead or any of the off brand leads I've tried in the past. I actually loaded my Pica with the lead that came with these pencils and will continue to do the same going forward. The red lead is softer, but thats to be expected. It shows up bright and marks on most surfaces great.I wasn't as impressed by the yellow lead, but I don't really use yellow for much anyways and didn't try it as extensively as the pencils themselves or the other leads.I've continued to carry one of these pencils right beside my Pica pencil in my pocket every single day for work. I keep the regular lead in my Pica and the red lead in the black pencil from this set. It's been nice having the option of either color all the time.I highly recommend this set based on my use.

This is a nice 2 pencil set with extra leads. I’ve been using the flat carpenter pencils for more years than I care to admit and the accuracy of a mark has always been dependent on how well you can sharpen them with a pocket knife. These new style automatic feed mechanical pencils are a game changer. Each pencil has a holster type carrier that protects the tip from being broken. The clip on the holster has little barbs to keep it from pulling out of your pocket. I actually put the holster inside of my front pants pocket and I don’t even know it’s there. The lead is thicker than a normal pencil so it has some durability when dragging a mark across a piece of lumber and not snapping the tip. Having the built in pencil sharpener in the holster is also a very nice feature.I have two small complaints about these. The yellow and red leads are soft, they remind me of colored pencils my kids use at school. They mark pretty well on rougher surfaces but can be difficult to see on smooth surfaces like aluminum or even smooth angle iron. The second issue I discovered while working on a project, I will make a mark on something and set the pencil down, forgetting to drop it back in the holster. Then when I need it again I have to look for it in my shop and the black pencil case blends in with every other black handled tool laying around. I’m either going to paint the black pencil case a florescent color or wrap some colored tape around it so it will stand out in the crowd. These two issues aside, even if you only use the black lead pencil, they are worth having in your shop.

I recently purchased the Nicpro CP3000 Carpenter Pencil Set, and even though it's primarily designed for construction and carpentry, it has proven to be an excellent tool for my art and crafts projects as well.Right out of the box, I was impressed by the comprehensive set, which includes not just two sturdy mechanical pencils but also 38 ample refills, two protective sleeves with sharpeners, and a handy plastic storage box. This thoughtful combination ensures that I have everything I need to start my creative projects immediately. One of the standout features for me is the deep hole marker pencil. Its 45mm elongated tip is perfect for reaching tight spots where traditional pencils struggle, making it easier to add details or reach tricky areas in my artwork. The ergonomic and non-slip design is another aspect I absolutely love. During long drawing sessions, comfort and control are crucial, and this pencil's grip ensures a steady hand without slipping. The practical pocket clip is an added convenience, allowing me to carry it around effortlessly. The protective sleeve with an integrated sharpener is a game-changer. It keeps the pencil safe from dust and moisture, and the sharpener ensures my leads remain pointed and ready for intricate detailing, enhancing my ability to work on fine art projects. The 2.8 mm thick color lead can easily mark on various surfaces, including wood, metal, plastic, and even concrete. This flexibility means I can switch from working on a wooden art panel to a metal sculpture without a second thought. The durability of these pencils is outstanding. Designed to withstand tough conditions, their robust construction reassures me of their longevity. Knowing that these pencils have been tested to endure being crushed by a car certainly speaks to their resilience – not that I plan to test that myself, but it's good to know! The Nicpro CP3000 Carpenter Pencil Set has exceeded my expectations. It's not only a valuable tool for carpenters but also a fantastic addition for anyone interested in drawing and arts and crafts. Highly recommended for anyone looking for versatile and reliable marking tools!
