if you ride tubeless, you need this. a loose presta core can sink your ride, regardless how great a tire you have, no matter what brand sealant you have. sealant can handle small holes, you can plug punctures, but if you can't tighen your presta core, same result, flat, no ride. a simple valve cap with big usefulness.

This cap is a more solid item than the other ones I tried. It has a thicker, more robust wrench section and removed a test valve stem quickly and easily.It could be even stronger, but I'm guessing they are up against a weight penalty. Still much better than that "other brand" that has blingy colors but easily deformed while fixing a flat.I view this as an emergency tool for out on the trail, and I'm putting one on each of my bikes.FYI: chain tools tend to have an opening opposite the twist lever that will remove a valve stem.

Putting aluminum caps on brass stems causes galvanic corrosion. Making it hard to remove the cap or damage to the stem. This happened to me before on my car after the chromed brass caps went missing after a tire rotation. Replaced them with what I thought was the same, but turned out to be aluminum. The stems quickly corroded until they corroded through. Theses caps will go in my kit as a valve wrench incase I need to add sealant to a punctured TL tire. Sticking with the plastic caps or no caps on the valves.
