They're not cheap but work well, and it's handy to have different sizes. No regrets buying them

I'm a casual, armature photographer who occasionally takes photos of people and things for social networks. These cones are well made but the snaps that hold them together are a little difficult to operate. I think I'll just keep them assembled and find somewhere to store them. The frosted material does a great job at diffusing the light, it removes bright spots and shadows from your subjects. It makes a huge difference in my pictures. However there are some things that could be improved. These are round and our photos are rectangular, the largest one, 20" can really only be used for objects much smaller than that, otherwise the cone will get in your shot. You're limited to shooting downward because the cones are floppy and need to rest on a flat surface, if you try to hold them horizontally they'll just flop around. I'm going to try to jerry rig something so that I can use it horizontally. My last comment is about price, at the time of this review they're priced at $98.49 with an additional $20 off, which, in my opinion, despite how well they work, is still a high price.

I've been really happy with this set of light cones from NEEWER. This comes in a cardboard tube rolled up. No carrying case but you can roll these back up to store in the tube again afterwards since it's fairly sturdy. These clip together easily and you get a good variety of sizes depending on what you're photographing. I've been paring this with some continuous video lights and it's been great. The diffusion works really well. You'll want at least two light sources unless you're looking for some directional light, in which case a single light source is okay since you get enough diffusion so that shadows aren't too harsh. These are a great way to get some nice even, professional looking lighting on smaller products or even macro shots in some cases. Overall a solid option for the price if you're looking for a way to better light your top down product photos, 100% would recommend.

The material softens harsh light and reduces shadows really well. Works best with two light sources for even coverage. The set includes three sizes, but larger objects might not fit well.Snaps hold it together but feel a bit flimsy and could bend over time. These cones can only be used for overhead shots since they collapse if not placed on a flat surface. No carrying case, but they roll back into the sturdy tube.Good for small product photos, especially jewelry, but not great for angled shots. Price is a bit high.

This diffusion works great to soften light. It packs flat and you get several sizes. Easy to set up. Recommended.

This is a total waste of time. The material is thin, so it's too see through for the advertised purpose. It doesn't hold shape. The plastic has a texture to it, which reflects in the shiny objects. It's all wrong. I recommend that you spend more money and get the Karl Taylor xone. That one is thick and expensive, but worth it. I will get the bigger size I need from that seller.

Harsh lighting washes out the video or picture, but with these diffusers, the light can be muted to avoid throwing shadows and bright spots. Recommended for ease of use.

These are good for when you need to get some product shots and do not want to set up a complicated setup with softboxes, diffusers, reflectors, backdrops, etc. They work well to take shots of smaller items either from the top or the side* (need to leave at least the two bottom side clips open, lens diameter dependent). For quick and easy product shots these work in a pinch. I typically use smaller LED/COB lights with these on at least two sides to obtain even light distribution. Yet another winner accessory in the Neewer product arsenal.

Disclaimer: I'm not a professional photographer so my standards may be a bit lower to those who are.I got these hoping they would help me take better product photos for my online store and THEY DID. I usually take terrible photos cause lighting is such an issue where I live. I don't have good indoor lighting and natural sunlight casts way too many shadows. I used these outdoors in prime lighting and I was so impressed with how well these cones diffused light. The only thing is I wish these were slightly larger. Even the largest size I could see some of the edges in my shot but I was totally fine with that as I could edit it out.

I have a light box, which I rarely use in part because of the hassle of getting it out, setting it up, tearing it down, and putting it away again. I saw these light cones and thought I'd give them a shot. The price point seems a little high, but that is probably due somewhat to the fact that I don't really do much jewely photography. I want to use these more for product photography. The main limitation these have is that you can only shoot top-down (with a light box you shoot from the front, side, top, at an angle, etc.). However, you can probably get a bit creative with the cones since they unsnap and can be used flat. With a few props, you can set them up in other creative ways. The big pluses: the material offers great diffusion, they are a "snap" to set up and put away super fast, and they come in a decent (cardboard) tube for storage. Shown are a few unedited sample shots of a Neewer CM5 mic set. This was a quick test with the shots taken hand-held on my phone and a single light (also, the surface was reflective, so with the right surface, these would be even better).

Very good solution to very specific photography problems. For $80 I would think twice about this product as there are a lot of built-in limitations, I wish one of the sizes had an offset hole instead of centered so the shot isn't limited to top-down view; opening the buttons allows a better angle but there's just too much post processing with that solution.Additional limitations:• The size of the product is very limited to small small and the camera needs at least 80mm zoom.• Phone must have 5x zoom or more,• The line of snap buttons and access hole still reflect• Diffusion texture shows up quite prominently in the reflections.
