We use this scale almost daily. Bread baking and portioning are the usual needs. And it’s been great and accurate. It recently lost a rubber foot, and has started turning on if touched lightly, but it was so good for all this time that I will purchase it again when the time comes.

Batteries included. Great scale, very precise. Wish it came with a weight for calibration but chances are it won't ever need to be recalibrated.

After only 2 years of very light use it broke. Make your self a favour - buy cheaper scale, at least you will not be so disappointed when you will have to replace it...

i love the hemp plastic version way more!!! The top in this version unscrews too easily, falling off occasionally. On the other side the display is bright and clear. It still includes a bowl which is useful, but if you have your own container My Weigh Scales also makes a nice baking kitchen scale with a stainless steel top minus the bowl apparatus.

I bake.I use this scale to convert the volume measurements (e.g., Cups) in bread recipes into recipes by weight (e.g. Grams). When mixing ingredients, I tare the weight of my bowl, add flour directly from container, tare, add water, tare, etc. The scale is sensitive enough for even measuring salt and yeast by weight. Much faster adding ingredients this way and with no measuring cups to clean!I haven't used the counting feature except to try it out to see if it works. It does, and it's pretty cool. Use it to count your big jar of pennies!I have had it for a couple of years now and it's still on the original battery.I don't use the bowl it shipped with as it is kinda flimsy. Makes a fine bowl for snacks, but not for mixing. The scale is plastic although I think the electronics have a solid metal frame as the base does have enough weight to stabilize the scale, but not so much that I can't store it away when not in use. It's not a shiny brass and glass scale that you keep on your counter. It's a black plastic workhorse that you'll use with confidence.I wholeheartedly recommend this product. The A/C adapter is very optional as battery life is excellent.

Years ago I bought one of these scales, it finally broke. So I bought another just like it. It is very easy to use. I like the bowl because is is quite large. I bought a power supply for the first scale, but I never used it. The batteries last for years.

The scale lost a rubber foot within a week. I was really disappointed they weren't in their footing holes more securely, but we are still using it without the rubber feet as we took them all off. We would really like to purchase new ones, but haven't had the time to call the manufacturer. All in all, it seems to weight accurately, and does it's job. We bought the so that we could accurately recreate European recipes without translating from the US System of Units to Metrics, and it measures using either system. The measurement screen lights clearly, the measuring bowl is large enough for even the most complicated recipes.Edited 10/17/12: Reduced to 4 stars because of the rubber footing not securely in footing holes. Also corrected spelling.Edited 12/19/13: My scale is still going strong! I love how I can tare and use different bowls or plates. My baking has never been better now that I measure in grams! I am still pretty stoked with this purchase.

First be aware that this scale comes with a clear plastic, very handy, weighing bowl and nothing else. The calibration weight is not included, nor is the plug-in wall socket power source.I bought one of these scales here on Amazon, different vendor, around two years ago. I used it regularly through two sets of batteriesbefore it gave out.The item does come with a stated THIRTY YEAR Warranty. I was skeptical of this claim to say the least but when it broke down I did an internet search for the listed agent, contacted the organization and, lo and behold, rcvd. a reply instructing me to send the scale to them with proof of purchase and a filled out warranty card. This I did, neglecting to included the warranty card either because I had already mailed it in or I never had the form and within three weeks I had a replacement scale. This really makes me feel good about buying the scale even though I don't expect this new one to last any longer than my old one.If you are going to use this scale occasionally, for lighter items down to one gram in weight, this is an barely acceptable purchase, in my opinion. If, on the other hand, you are going to use this regularly and/or for items weighing less than one gram, I would steer you toward a different device.A nice feature of this scale is the count feature which enables one to pre-program the weight of a group of 10, 20, (maybe 30 and 40) 50 and 100 items so that they can be dumped in the bowl and when the correct weight is reached one knows that the correct number of items is in the bowl awaiting packaging. It would be nice if any quantity such as 15, 25, and 75 could be used but the quantities are pre-set in the factory and no customization is possible (the work around is to figure out how much a qty weighs and then fill bowl to this weight but this kind of defeats the purpose, what.Anyway, for the money, this is an okay light duty scale with a reliable warrranty but there are much better choices available.
