So ultimately the outlet works. It's also actually GFCI. I have an outlet tester that passed it fine, the tester I used also has a GFCI tripper built in and it trips the outlet correctly. The outlet reset buttons work.That said, it's not perfect. There's two weird flaws. One, the cover it comes with, I suppose, is designed for a screwless look. However, how it works is you screw in a plate then snap a second plate on top of it. This second plate is so thick your outlet will be recessed. Not to the point where you couldn't use it, but it won't deliver a flush look.Luckily for me I just put my old plate cover on and it fit fine (that's what's pictured).My second gripe - the green "everything is okay" light is INSANELY bright. It's nuts. I have this thing underneath a microwave so it's not super distracting, but you can very easily see this light across your entire house in the broad daylight. Just consider that when thinking about where this is going in your house.So, knocking a point off for some weird and annoying design choices but all in all, as far as I can tell, it's a functional and real GFCI outlet.

Easy to install and it worked the first time. I tried to install one from another manufacturer with no success as the tester would not work properly.

It's replacing another ivory GFI and this one is much darker and also the plate is smaller. I used the plate from the old GFI it works better

Not a professional, but a few YouTube videos later and ZAP, an old house has GFCI outlets protecting loads near water! You should probably be a professional or hire one if you don’t like electricity tickling your finger tips…. Also don’t forget to turn the breaker off first.

I grew up building houses, and have install countless Outlets, and this has been no different, so the install was simple. It functions like it's supposed to, The Surge protection breaker tested fine, and the build quality is the same as you would find at a good quality hardware store.
