I love melissa and doug products, but this one falls short. The magnets it came with are kind of flimsy and barely stick if the board is held upright. Other regular magnets won't stick it all. 18 month old (that likes playing with magnets on the fridge) has a hard time sticking these onto the board.

This has been used for many years by more than one of our grandchildren. The chalkboard did need to be repainted but the item is still sturdy as when purchased. Highly recommend this product.

Quality is okay. Magnets wore down pretty quickly. Only one whiteboard marker came with it which isn’t ideal for children.

Poor quality. Some of the magnetic letters have poor adherence to the surface slipping off easily.

I got this to take on a 6 hr trip with my 4 yrs old grandaughter! All the activities she could do on this kept her busy for over an hour!Negatives the eraser has fallen apart and she took the trip and then only two weekend visits and it is completely apart! Also the tip of the marker for the white board has been worn down (comes with only one color)! I purchased more colors of markers and an eraser so she is good for lots more fun!All in all Im very happy and so is she.....practicing letters and numbers on both sides allows her to quickly get rid of mistakes which she cant on paper :-)I would have liked to have magnetic lower case letters too, Ill get some. Cant spell her name as she has double of one letter so I just had her draw it

I was shopping around for a chalkboard and whiteboard combo that somehow incorporated the primary color theme I got going on in my daughters playroom. Low and behold I come across just that in this product and the fact that it is by known and respected Melissa and Doug was a MAJOR plus. They fit my intial needs based on their description so well that I ordered two. I wanted to hang them on the wall so a side of each - chalkboard and whiteboard is faced out. This "hanging" was also aided by the little string handle that is attached. I figure down the road I can give one to each of my daughters to use as lap boards and such. These boards were also such a great buy since they came with the markers, chalk, and erasers. Other reviewers complained that htere should have been a compartment to hold all these things but for my needs, this wasn't an issue since I used a galvanized pail to put the chalk in. Overall this was a great buy and I would definitely recommend them to a friend. Do note the size as some may think they are small but when you think of who the product is inteneded for, it is actually the perfect size.PS. Forgot to mention that it also came with the magnet letters which was a great PLUS!!! I was looking to purchase these separately and these were included. They are also of much higher quality than those cheap plastic ones who have a magnet on one side. These letters are fully magnetized on one whole side. Very great buy!
