The MEINL Djembe Stand was designed to firmly hold any djembe in the traditional playing position. A nylon strap is secured around the drum and two rubber padded u-shaped hooks are slid into the bottom of the shell. It can be angled and is fully height adjustable.

This is my first Djembe and first djembe stand which did not come with any instructions, but there’s a catalog of products included. How hard would it be to add a simple diagram? Otherwise it’s a great NOT MADE IN CHINA, but rather MADE IN THAILAND, not sure that’s any better.

This stand is a BEAST! The price point of this item is well below it's high quality. Excellent value! See it used live on stage when Pictus (pictusmusic.com) hits a town near you. [end shameless plug]

Tried 6 different styles of djembe stands... although it started coming apart where it should've stayed connected -- It folds the best and I travel better with this one.

fits right in with my acoustic drum kit hardware. heavy duty equipment. watched another percussionist perform this weekend with a Djembe sitting directly on the floor. the sound was muffled and didn't come through like it would have on the stand even though he miked it into the PA the band was using.

After 10 years, I broke my Gibraltar stand by breaking the welds. It didn't stand up to the rigors of the road. Hot, then cold, finally did it in. I ordered up this stand and played it today for the first time. Very impressed! Setup was simple. It's a drum stand. The Velcro strap held my djembe firmly in place. After a few minor tweaks, I was playing. I sit when playing and had no problems. It sits a bit higher than the Gibraltar but not uncomfortable. The 2" more height just made it easier to mic. I may tweak a little bit more but it suits my needs and is rock solid. I hit hard but my djembe held firm. I highly recommend this stand.

I bought the Meinl 12" Fiberglass Djembe (see my review of it here. I LOVE the drum! http://www.amazon.com/Meinl-Floatune-Series-Djembe-12-inch/dp/B00275G6YA/ref=cm_cr-mr-title) -- and when I bought the drum, of course I picked up a stand to go with it. I bought this one, as I know Meinl stuff is top notch. Listen, if you are a hard player and have a fairly heavy drum (like the Meinl Djembes, none are exceptionally light) ---> DO NOT GET THIS! I regretted it. In the middle of getting down and going all-out, the drum stand wobbles and shakes some. Not a lot, but enough to drive me NUTS. I sold it on Craigslist a few months after buying it, and I lost a few bucks. But live and learn, right? Still love Meinl, just NOT this stand.

This stand has really earned its "pro" designation. It's well-constructed, sturdy, and offers many easy adjustments some of which can be pre-set for future sessions. It's fairly compact when folded which makes it easy to transport. Costs a bit more than some of its competition, but well worth it.
