This thumb brace does not do enough to immobilize the thumb joint or the thumb at all. Plus, I developed a numbness at the first joint that I did not have before - I think it was one of the metal stays that started pressing against the big joint. So if I loosened it, no immobilization. If I tightened it, numbness. Overall, it allows way too much movement so it is basically worthless. I purchased another one at walmart and it functioned a lot better.
