This is a decent lock. It can withstand basic force by hand. If someone were to use a tool to open it, it would definitely break open, so I would recommend it for the gym or yard gate. The code is very easy to reset and it is easy to use as well. Overall a good purchase for small to moderate protection.

I don't understand why there's so many reviews of people Unable to open their locks. These locks require you to set your own combination. The only way they won't work properly is if you do not follow the directions. Please read the instructions inside the packaging to set your own combination correctly. I ordered 2 master locks. I followed the instructions exactly and have not had any issues. I opened and closed mine 20 times each upon receiving my locks and setting my combo. No issues at all because I read the instructions. I got these locks for my pelican tool box at work. These are not for security but for privacy. These just detur people from easily taking my tools. Could easily be broken off if you wanted to. But I think they're slightly better than the other cheaper options on Amazon. Good quality for price

This is not advertised as an outdoor lock, but I have installed them all over the HOA where I live and they have not rusted, or declined in functionality. Master Lock has been around the block, as some, or maybe all of its sourcing from overseas. Many times this becomes the downfall of great companies, but Master lock as made it work. This one is a winner.

I used this lock once, it went on to the locker easily, and opened well, but the combination somehow changed and I can't get it to open again.I don't recommend this lock at all.

Need this for a gym locker, don’t want worry about carrying or losing a key. Like tgdd ed 4 digit code, I believe they offer this lock with alpha characters. I’m sure it’s not the most robust, bomb-proof, thief-proof lock, but it’s sturdy enough as a gym locker lock.

this is a sturdy reliable lock. It is a step above key locks, and the old high school combination lock . However, it has its problems The lock locked itself into another combination and I closed it never to find the new combination Many times. Horrible. I have had to get bolt cutters from friends 4 times for these locks to get into my bags that I locked with my personal belongings I did not want stolen. That was $45 down the drain. They are sturdy but if you are being recorded, the numbers click so loud that your combination can be figured out if they know the numbers you started out from. And if people see the numbers on the other side of the lock they can see that and figure out your passcode. So you have to hide this in your hands. The only way you can guarantee it won't lock on you with a different combo is to test the combo before locking it. Make sure your numbers are on the right dial and check the moving arm piece isn't pressed down! If it is place your code into the setting and lift up pressing the lock up and down in the right combo. That is to confirm that your lock Has the right Combination and it will open for you the next time. Then press the moving arm in the lockdown position and change the numbers around. Test to make sure your combination is right. It should be now. I wish someone had told me this before I had to go through almost $50 worth of locks! Plus, the ones the seeds stole from me. I’m out $200 at least.Happy Zonningggggggg!!!

You will like this lock if you need it for privacy. It should NOT be used to secure a firearm, gates or high value items.I bought this for the purpose of securing car keys from the people who live in my house. I have a steel lockable ammo container. So basically its to prevent someone from simply grabbing the keys and readily accessing the cars. It will slow someone down but it wont stop them if they are determined.Remember someone with a long set of clippers can get into any padlock. However for firearms, gates or high value items I would suggest something more substantial. This is strictly a light duty lock for securing privacy but wont offer security.

I have several of these locks that I set up with the identical combination. I used a four-letter-word (not vulgar), which I find much easier to remember than numbers. The padlocks are installed on gates and sheds around my property. They work reasonably well if you keep the internal guts lubricated. They are fairly light-duty; I suspect that someone could easily break in using a large screwdriver. However, they should at least slow the thieves down, which hasn’t been a problem to date. After several years of use, one of these locks just stopped working and wouldn’t open one day. I’ve read reviews that say they occasionally just don’t work with the set combination. I just cut it off and installed a new one. For about $10, I figured a cost of about $1 per year is reasonable.A decent lock that’s convenient to use.Regards, Mark

El candado que me llego venía oxidado, sucio, así como si estuviera guardado en una bodega vieja por años, muy decepcionado de mí compra.

Bought this for a backpacking trip through Europe to use on hostel lockers. Worked perfectly. Did not encounter a single latch that this didn't fit perfectly on. Combination lock was perfect, since I feared losing a key. Found it tricky to open the lock in the dark since I couldn't see the dial, but then I decided to scramble the combo in a specific pattern, so I could align them by memory. This lock is not the absolute most secure option—obviously!—but it's perfect for a quick lock up and looks solid enough to prevent thefts of opportunity.

I bought this product several years ago and it worked well. However, I lost the lock and order a new one about two weeks ago. The new one was a dud. I used a couple times successfully. However, the third time I used it the lock seized up and I was unable to open it. The timing was pretty bad because I just got out of the shower and had all my clothes and valuables in the locker. I had to head to the gym front desk in a towel and slippers. I was afraid I was going to have to walk home in a towel and slippers and hope that I could get into my house without keys and cellphone as the gym was getting close to closing. Luckily the gym staff was able eventually open it by using bolt cutters. Now I am on the market for another lock and afraid of getting caught "naked" by buying another dud lock. Wish these locks could be more reliable, not sure what product to buy, any recommendations would be appreciated.
