I build weird projects for one off uses and so I need linear motion systems. What I don't need are super precise linear motion systems, so I am fine getting items with a little slop in them or that run rough, which these do. For the stuff I build, I can get away with it, but if you're dropping a rover on Mars, you probably want to consider something a little more precise.

I kinda think it's the rod I'm using more than the guides, but it's a bit rough. It's likely a little of both. I think I may take sand paper to the rod and see if it helps. Otherwise, this is going to be a great addition to my home built 3-d printer. Outside seems smooth, and well made, definitely slides smoother than a bushing.

All four Z-axis plastic linear bearings failed on my TronXY X5SA Pro 3d printer, most likely due to the lack of synchronization from side to side. These were perfect replacements for the plastic OEM linear bearings which all split from top to bottom. These were installed in conjuction with the TronXY synchronization belt and pulleys available as a kit direct from TronXY, if you want to piecemeal your own they are 24T pulleys and 1068mm closed loop belt. Also installed preloading nuts on the Z-axis drive rods and more rigid couplers. Overall a major improvement in Z-axis stability. Apparently TronXY realized that the linear bearings were problematic since they now offer comparable parts for purchase as replacements.

My husband recently needed some specific parts for a project and decided to try out the LMF8UU 8mm Round Flange Linear Ball Bearings. This 4 pack seemed like a good fit for his CNC machine and 3D printer, given they are designed for 8mm linear shafts and come with double-sided rubber seals.After incorporating them into his work, he's noted that the quality is adequate. They've been functioning as expected, providing smooth motion and a snug fit on the shafts. The rubber seals are a thoughtful addition, as they help prevent dust and debris from getting inside the bearings, which is crucial for the kind of precision work he's doing.He hasn't encountered any significant issues since he started using them, which is a good sign. They seem to be holding up well under regular use, and he's pleased with how they've performed so far. It's nice when you find components that meet your project's needs without any fuss, and these linear ball bearings have managed to do just that.
