I find this to be a great set of cutting tool holders and inserts especially for someone just starting out with a small lathe. This set has every type holder you will need for most projects. Both inside and outside threading tools. A cut off tool holder. Boring bar and left and right hand holders with double sets of inserts for each holder. A great value for someone just setting up a small lathe.

This RupXinSplend brand set of indexable lathe tools arrived with each tool in its own protective case, while the inserts were in another case. These are all very solid tools. I mostly cut aluminum, but also steel, on a small hobby lathe, and these tools are perfect for me. I could not find any flaws or burrs on any of the tools, and all were separately wrapped in a plastic sleeve inside their case.

I'm not commenting on shop-production focused use. I use this in small hobbyist settings on a 9x30 lathe. I typically only machine mild steel and down through brass, aluminum and some plastics. Minding feeds and speeds, these inserts have held up fine in my limited use. Again, I'm just a hobbyist and these work fine for me. I can always upgrade the cutter inserts if I'm going to delve into some harder and tougher machining items.

I've owned a Small engine / ATV / farm tractor repair shop for over 25 years, and have 2 Lathes - a 2ft bed and a larger 8 ft bed - they are both used for non precision machining, such as cleanups, creating non critical "special tools", cutting down bushings, making spacers, etc - so micro precision is not an issue to me.This RupXinSplend Lathe Turning-Tools Threading Holder 21pcs set arrived packaged very well, and each tool is individually packaged in a plastic sleeve, even the carbide inserts have a plastic tray with dividers to keep them separated and organized. The tools themselves are of a nice semi-machined finish, unlike a lot of the lower priced tools I have gotten over the years. The tools fit nicely in the tool post, and the carbide inserts are sharp. The carbide inserts are not pre-installed on the tools, so you will have to do that before use. But the kit comes with the necessary tools to install the inserts.Overall, for my usage, this set works well on both of my lathes, and suits my use just fine, especially for the price

This is a great kit for the price - includes internal and external threading tools, right and left handed cutters, adjustable boring bar, and a cutoff tool, along with at least two replaceable carbide inserts per tool.These are not super high quality for extremely precise operations, but for use with Chinese grade lathes from Sieg and their rebrands (Harbor Freight, Grizzly, etc) it's perfect. Take small cuts and set your machine up and you should be able to hold a thou or two with these carbide cutters. Great upgrade from the HSS tools I was using.

Not top tier, what you would expect for the price. Worth the money for a hobbiest, not a precision shop though.
