I finally used this today and it worked well. I had a few second story windows and I wasn't able to get the ladder up to hang curtains because the ladder feet would be sitting on the glass. This item allowed me to space the contact points around the glass.The only issue I had was that I was using this on a Werner A/I frame telescoping ladder and I couldn't put the stabilizer underneath the rung. So the ladder wasn't pushing against the stabilizer arms, but on the U-hooks. I considered the safety implications of this and decided it was still safe. I was able to get up there and finally hang the curtains.I really like the silicone protective feet that came with it. They do a great job protecting the walls from marks.

Unit is large and made of steel. The result is the ladder is very top heavy

I am very impressed with the construction of the ladder stabilizer which feel should be used on all extension type ladders but is never offered as part of a ladder purchase. This I cannot fathom. The Extension ladders by nature are not very stable and if you do lot of work on ladders like I do, you must have this as a safety attached to your ladder to prevent slipping, unstable ground, and overreach, which we have all been exposed to. The attachment us very easy to install using on2 brackets to attach to the ladder. It also comes with rubber feet for the ends of the stabilizer to protect the walls. The most outstanding part of the stabilizer is how strong it is made. Most stabilizers I have used are not very strong and have to be replaced every season. Not this one. I expect several seasons of use. My only suggestion is that the rubber feet be thicker and bigger. These will not hold onto the stabilizer bar as they should, so I am going to take off one star since this is a very important piece of the safety of the device and I will be using my own feet to protect the walls.

Well I installed in on my ladder today, easy installation, looked nice. I placed it on my roof rack and headed to the jobsite. When I arrived it was gone... Should've came with lock nut washers I guess.

This product is amazing, and should be included with every extension ladder. It took about 15 minutes to install on my ladder, and improved the stability of the ladder against the house by a good 100%. Extension ladders always feel iffy - even those with pivoting feet always feel pretty jittery up high - but adding this made my ladder feel rock-solid when resting on the side of the house. The feeling of security and safety made such a difference in confidence, especially (but not only) when the feet are on dirt or grass. It also protects the house - it came with silicone feet, and an extra set for when/if the first set is lost. My ladder is a pretty typical Werner aluminum ladder, so I assume it will fit almost any other extension ladder equally well. The only downside is that the ladder won't collapse down to it's smallest size - storage is a little more difficult.

This is such a great idea to help keep the ladder from hurting the house and to help get you over the roof lip if you are going up top. I really like the metal U shaped bolts to secure the ladder to the stabilizer, and the rubber pads to keep your paint safe.

I recently purchased the Ladder Stabilizer, and it has made a huge difference in my DIY projects. The stabilizer is incredibly sturdy and provides great support, making me feel much safer when using my ladder. It grips the wall well, preventing any unwanted slipping or tipping, even on uneven surfaces. The setup was quick and easy, and it’s lightweight enough to carry around without hassle. It’s a must-have if you’re working at heights, whether for home maintenance or outdoor tasks. I feel much more confident and secure while using my ladder now, and I highly recommend this stabilizer to anyone looking to improve ladder safety!

Sturdy and simple ladder standoff. Item is well packaged and easy to assemble. Mine came with extra hardware and extra silicone feet (pictured in listing). Hardware seems to be good quality and it does have the sheen of stainless. The steel tubing feels substantial. I wish the legs attached with two bolts each instead of one each, but I don't think they will fail- they could just wiggle less. That's just the nature of it being three pieces. It wouldn't be too hard to drill extra bolt holes. I felt perfectly stable once there was weight on the ladder. I am not convinced the 15 degree angled feet actually do anything, but I also don't think they hurt. Overall, a good stabilizer. It does at some weight to the top of the ladder (especially felt when carrying it attached), but not too bad. If this meets your price point, it's a good product.
