I am loving the rechargeable tools. No need to drag an air hose around anymore. Super efficient.

The Grinder worked as expected. The only issue I have had is it gets hot and stops working. After a cool down time it will start right back up. Smaller grind jobs for this ones future, however it's still a handy add to the tool bag.

REPLACEMENT COLLETS WILL NOT WORK WITH KOBALTafter looking everywhere, i just called Kobalt. they do not offer replacement collets, they say just get the standard 1/4" collet replacements... that will work on 99% of other brands...... but WILL NOT WORK WITH KOBALT.They purposely designed this, so that when the collet breaks, you need to replace the whole tool.the OD of the collet needed for this is: 0.315" diameter.the standard collets are 0.485" diameter.so not only are the standard ones too big to fit into their "specially" designed tool, but their collets have HALF the wall thickness (0.030" vs 0.060" on standard) so they break easier! To me... that is CRIMINAL! they either....1) dont understand math and engineering, and "forgot" to make their specifically designed $3.00 replacement parts availableor2) purposely made a weak/break point, on what should be - and is with 99% other brands! - a $3.00 part, and purposely made replacement parts non-existent, to force you to have to buy another $75 tool?Due to this I am never again buying Kobalt anything!and as Kobalt is exclusively sold at Lowes, we are also done with them.- from the purchaser for a foundry/machine shop.

I mainly use this for grinding metal with a carbide grinding bit and it works great with the controllable speed and good grip for two hands!

The Kobalt 24-volt Max Cordless Die Grinder is about perfect for any home workshop. Its' 3-speeds can handle virtually any bit you can chuck up in it. I would not call it sturdy enough for commercial use where extended harsh usage could be an issue but, in a home workshop it should hold up without question. I have not had this tool all that long but, I have not encountered any overheating/overload condition like others have reported. I really don't anticipate any situation where I would push this tool hard enough to encounter such a condition. The LED light is a very nice feature for seeing the immediate work area well. I like the reasonable weight of this die grinder and its' ergonomic design. It allows for manipulation of the tool at odd angles without tiring the hands and arms. I also appreciate the unencumbered freedom of this cordless tool. I consider the Kobalt 24-volt Max Cordless Die Grinder a very good value in terms of its usefulness and cost!

I must be unlucky who bought the tool with small collet. It will not fit any 1/4" shank bits.I even tried to expand it with flat screw driver. It does not work. Must be a defective collet or wrong sized from factory. I'm returning it.

I like that it has sufficient power. The only draw back I've come across is the heat. It gets pretty hot after only a few minutes. Wear gloves. It does shut off unexpectedly if it gets to hot. Thought it was the battery dieing but it seems to be a safety feature. If you don't need it for more than a few minutes, its a great product.
