I purchased this K&N oil filter for a 1999 Porsche Boxster. Changing out the oil filter was very easy and this K&N filter fit perfectly. I found by purchasing this K&N oil filter and changing it out myself saved me a great deal of money from having to take the Porsche in to a garage.

Customer service is top notch at K&N. This application did not fit my 2010 Carrera so I called K&N and they were outstanding. Wish all companies treated everyone as well. Company bent over backwards to make it right.Wish I could have purchased an oil filter from K&N but they don't make them for the newer 911's yet.The gentleman from the company was so accommodating and helpful that I bought the air filters from them directlyand was treated extremely well. The air filters will outlast the car (1 million mile warranty). I will definitely buy K&N products in the future for my other vehicles.Thanks K&N for being the consummate American Company. GREAT PRODUCT,GREAT SERVICE.

It's a highly rated and regarded oil filter by sports car enthusiasts. That's why I bought it. Does it filter oil better than the other brands, I couldn't tell you. The important thing is that it fits as its supposed to. This is very important when you're car is elevated, all the oil has been drained and you're replacing the filter in its holder.

This is a great filter. Got it for my '01 boxster s. Its much cheaper on amazon than I can get locally and it includes a new gasket (the filters at my local auto parts store didn't include that crucial piece.)

I've been changing my own oil on my Porsche for 10 years. I don't feel this item is constructed as good as the OEM/Mahle, but it does appear adequate. In the future, if convenient, I will try to get OEM ones from Porsche online dealers such as Sunset in Oregon. This item, as pictured, does come with an O-ring, which seems to fit comparable to OEM. I will update if I encounter any issues, but I doubt there will be any.What Amazon offers is a real convenience over getting one from your local "stealer". Additionally, Amazon has a broad selection of quality synthetic oils available for delivery, further increasing the convenience. Since I am a PRIME member, I can basically get a DIY oil-change kit in 2 days without any hassle. This is probably worth an extra star.One final note is that I would order the oil and filter separately. Amazon often has terrible packing of heavy and light items together. In this case, the oil filter even shipped separately in its own flimsy wrap-around box, which was crushed. The K&N box was also squashed, but the filter appeared to be OK. Amazon shipping was probably thinking this was a steel-can oil filter. So, I took back that extra star for packaging.
