This is a great dryer. Its not fancy or digital, there are no flashing lights, but it gets the job done very efficiently. It is so quiet that I keep thinking it has turned itself off (which is the problem I had with my broken dryer I had to replace). When we were shopping for one we went back and forth over whether to buy one from Amazon or not. In the end I decided to order here because when I go to an appliance store I always end up upgrading in order to get something that's in stock. You get to choose a delivery window, and the dryer came right in the middle of our time frame. We did the free delivery, which means it is left either by a door or in the garage. You can also pay two different amounts, one to have it taken inside and more to have it actually installed. The only thing I would say is you should plan ahead and get a power cord and vent kit ahead of time. It is standard that dryers do not come with them and that is the only downside about buying from Amazon, as if you got one from a store the sales advisor would send you home with what you needed. We were going to use our old power cord but then realized how ancient it was, so we had to go to a store to get one after the delivery. It would be easier if you had it ready, and of course if Amazon were fitting it you would have to have a cord and vent at your house.

This dryer replaces a 20+ year-old Kenmore dryer that finally gave up the ghost. This one is very simple--not a lot of whistles and no bells. (One thing I miss from the old one--but not very much--is an LED showing how many minutes remain in the auto cycle.) It works quickly, quietly, has a large capacity, and has all the basic settings (heavy, medium, light, auto, timed, air dry). I'm still testing the moisture censor used by the auto cycle, which may not work as well as the old one. Since it also cost hundreds of dollars less than most other dryers, if it lasts half as long as the old one, it will really be a bargain.

I will divide this review into two parts. One for Amazon and the physical dryer and the other for the installation which was included in the price. One:The order went smoothly and was delivered by the installer exactly on the date and time I requested on Amazon's order. The unit runs fine and I give that part of the order 5 stars. Two:The installation, a disaster. They pulled up with the dryer in a beat up 20 foot box truck that looked like it had 200,000 miles on it. Definitely not an Amazon image. Two workmen. Carried the new dryer down into the basement and removed the old one. So far so good. Then the physical installation. These guys were definitely not tradesmen, more like a couple of laborers and a truck. They did not have the parts to do the installation properly. I ended up furnishing the vent hood and an elbow to make the connection. It had to go up and over the foundation which you would think to be standard for a basement installation. They had a vent hood for a drywall wall. They tried to put the elbow on backwards, female to female doesn't work. They ended up asking me for duct tape which they used to tape the vent to the vent hood. They did not attach the vent hood to the wall, just left it floating free. I will have to take that apart and install it properly. Then when my wife went to use the dryer, she said that the dryer wobbled, they had not even installed it level. Two diagonal feet too long or two too short so it rocked from three forward feet to three backward feet. That took me five minutes to fix and get the dryer firmly level in both directions. I figure that it will take me thirty minutes to correct the vent, fifteen if my wife will help me.So for the installation portion of the order I give them one star for getting it into the basement.I have to wonder what I would have ended up with had I payed the four dollars more to get it directly from Sears. The cost of the dryer, plus delivery, plus hauling the old one away, plus installation, plus the flexible gas line, plus the vent hood and piping. The main reason I went for Amazon and their one price includes all, no hidden charges, just lousy installation.

Very nice. I've only had it a couple of weeks. This is the kind of purchase that needs commenting after a year or so of use. But so far, super easy to install (Amazon's Shipper installed for us) The dryer is super easy to figure out how to use. Not too many dials/buttons, options. I like the moisture control option where the dryer shuts off when it senses the moisture is out of the clothing. But, it might start up again after the buzz, if it senses there is still moisture in the clothing. But, it is doing its job. So, you have to let it complete the moisture cycle and wait a few minutes after the 1st buzzer on the moisture dry option. Large load capacity. Light on inside to see what you are doing. Front load, with door that swings down instead of to the side so that when you are pulling clothing out of the dryer, and a sock drops, the dryer door catches the clean dry item, instead of falling on the floor which occurred with my prior dryer that had the front load, swinging open to the right dryer door. No fancy electronic display for low tech people like me. No fancy electronic display to fail in the future:)
