This book is very nice. Kaffe's books are loaded with beautiful pictures and quilts. I purchased it as a gift for a friend and included a charm pack of Kaffe Fassett fabrics that I also purchased on Amazon. She loved her gift and is making one of his quilts now.

This book has many different patterns in it and are easy to follow. I love his colors and the feel of his cotton. So soft. They are so unique looking I always get comments. This particular books is wonderful because he brings back his old favorites so you are able to see the original quilts then the same pattern done again in another set of fabrics.Fabulous.

Kaffe Fassette takes some of his older quilts and does them again. In fabulous new colors. Then presents them in a wonderful country setting. His artistry is enchanting, and he offers patterns for every quilt in the book. This is a ' no regrets' purchase on a market that is choked with quilting books.

As with all of Kaffe's books, this one is absolutely excellent. The color and photography is wonderful and the instructions are perfect. It leaves one with an overwhelming urge to start another quilt. It is so inspiring. A "must have" for all Kaffe collections!!

It never ceases to amaze me how much I enjoy Kaffe Fassett's books. Each time a new one is announced, I think "what more can he have to say?" But I always advance order and then eagerly await its arrival. I am never disappointed. I have nearly a whole book shelf dedicated to Kaffe and one of my greatest pleasures is finding myself with a quiet morning, a cup of coffee and a spare hour or two to feast my eyes and imagination on a selection from the Kaffe Fassett library. Seeing his textile designs realised as finished quilts makes me happy and sets me up for the day. His co-designers are equally inspiring and I love the different settings, props and environments in which everything is photographed. Seeing Kaffe sitting in the sun with Brandon Mably is heart-warming, they look like they are having such a wonderful time. From cover to cover, Kaffe's books are a delight and I have introduced so many quilting friends to them by giving them as gifts. Long may his genius continue!

This book contains reproductions of quilts designed by Kaffe Fassett, Liza Prior Lucy, Pauline Smith, Roberta Horton, Brandon Mably and Mary Mashuta in some of the previous books compiled by Fassett. From , we have the S Block, Star Bouquet and Chintz designs; from there are two versions of the Frames quilt and a new version of the Chelsea quilt called Summer Chelsea. There are new versions of Blue Star, Big Bang and Pastel Gridlock hailing from and Cutting Corners and Two Up and Two Down from . A mix of fabrics by Fassett, Mably and Jacobs has been used and some of them are no longer generally available at big sites online, including the Glorious Color website that is run by Liza Prior Lucy. But for the most part substitutions can be made. Indeed, that is one of the things to learn from this book--how to use what is at hand rather than being locked into the need for a particular fabric. The quilt photographs were shot in rural Bulgaria. The book includes templates, cutting instructions and assembly diagrams as well as the dimensions of the finished quilts. For the most part, the patterns are for sewers at the beginning or intermediate level, with the exception of quilts like Big Bang, which is composed 100% out of diamonds (look out for all those bias edges and use lots of starch on the fabric to keep them from stretching). As in other Fassett books, the stars are the fabrics, which are gorgeous and lush; they make the relatively easy patchwork patterns shine. Highly recommended for all quilting levels. (The errors in formatting for this revieware not mine--they show up no matter what I do.)

I first met his colours over 20 years ago and learned how to put multi colors together when I attended his work shopin Tokyo organized by Japan Vogue on knitting. So, I fell in love with his lovely colours before I ran into his booksin quilting. The purpose of getting his books is for me to learn about how to put colours.
