They don’t tighten down to stay in place. They are NOT SAFE as made, one vibrated loose and fell, it hit my husband in the forehead when driving our side by side. Unable to be used safely until we can fabricate something to secure them better.

Pros:Easy to installHeavy gauge steel tubingrubber protectors to protect your roll cageCons:Doesn't attach tightly to the rifle/shotgunNothing to keep the ends from moving on the roll cageNothing to keep it square between roll cageSo this holder used set screws to keep two pieces of square tube spread out between the roll cage frame. The problem is there are no mechanisms to lock the set screws to the other piece of tube. It was fine at first, but after some serious hill/rock climbing on the trails the mount became loose. Now comes the second problem in the design. The guns are held in place by velcro that is wrapped around the gun. The problem is that it stays fairly well put with the gun's stock, but there is nothing to keep it moving on the barrel since that is smooth. I think if the barrel side would NOT have moved, everything would move as a unit. Unfortunately, the barrel side stayed put and the stock side moved. It moved enough where the stock side came loose falling on the riders. The solution would be to have one more piece of tube in the middle of the original tubes to create an "H" shape so they would always be parallel.

I got this gun rack for my YXZ 1000R. If you have the stock configuration with the open cab this will fit in super easy. I have an aluminum roof on mine and if sits pretty tight to the roll cage. So I had to bend the forks slightly to get them to slide between the roll cage and the roof. Once it was install I nearly forgot it was there. No rattles, doesn't come loose. The only thing I wish was different is all the brackets are the same size. So one side holds the stock rather well, but the other side the barrel is loose and flopping around a bit. I am not worried about it coming out, but I don't like it rattling around either. I have to stuff some more foam in there to hold the barrel a little more secure.

Needing a long gun while driving in the back country in a UTV is made easy with this rifle rack. It is super easy to install, as it presses between two points in the frame and then tightens down with 2 set bolts. It is very adjustable with the rifle clamps themself able to slide to any position on the mounting tubes. If there is any negative about this rack, it would be that the rifle sits a little lower than I would like. Not by much, maybe a half inch or so, but nothing worth not buying this rack over. Nice rack for any UTV.

Overall, this is a pretty versatile solution for increased storage capacity on your UTV OPS. Measuring is going to be very important as some OPS will definitely be narrower or wider than these will accommodate. In general, the quality is pretty good, but you might want to take some extra steps to make these better. To begin with this will not fit the older style John Deere Gator OPS on the early HPX, 620i, 850D, etc without some modification as they are narrower than the minimum distance. I made these work on my 2005 Gator HPX by doing some "trimming" and making my own additional location for a bolt. I didn't mind taking a little time to do it, but some people probably wouldn't want to bother. These are fairly easy to assemble with basic tools. You simply slide these together, position your holders then tighten them, place them on your OPS, and then tighten the thumbscrews. The thumbscrews are pretty good, but you might want to drill a partial hole or complete hole where the thumbscrews go for some extra "bite", so they are less likely to work themselves loose and fall down.I was a little disappointed that the foam guards on the holders were already a little loose when I received these. I put a couple dabs of construction adhesive underneath to secure them better which was a little irritating, but I felt better doing it. The Velcro is ok, but definitely for short-term storage and not for long-term hardcore usage.I'm happy.... I was fully aware on the frontend that I would need to do a little DIY for these to fit my application. The good news is that while designed for firearms these can also work for shovels or other long handle tools in most instances. These also help offer additional stability to some plastic UTV roofs, which is cool.

These rails do fit on my 2010 Polaris Ranger 800 crew cab. I found these awkward to put in and adjust. I just couldn’t seem to get them tight enough so they didn’t slide around. I did eventually manage to get it in acceptably tight. With the help of a spreader bar clamp. I have two guns I usually mount in it. A shot gun and a hunting rifle. The U hooks are actually a little too large for many of my guns. They just sort of slide around. My advice is if you are really going to be on some rough trails, I would find something a bit more secure for your guns.
