I'm using this for basic household tasks. Cutting metal pipe, cutting shapes in wood, etc... It works just fine for that.

Getting the "safety" screw out isn't an easy task. Changing blades is difficult.

I purchased this since my old jigsaw broke. I needed to cut a window sized hole in a solid wood door. This jigsaw did it without any issue. The blades that come with it work perfectly and even when I thought I snapped the blade, the blade just fell out of the slot. My fault as I was trying to turn when I shouldn't have tried in some thick material, like a 2.5 inch door. I only had to re-screw it on and it finished the job with no issue. With many other brand named items going for twice or more the money for the same thing, and still not made in the USA, this is a value for any discount DIYer.

I bought this mostly because the price was attractive, but in retrospect I should've gone with my gut and invested in a higher quality jigsaw. I tried to cut a 3/4" piece of poplar wood with the blade provided and felt that maneuvering the saw was rough and bouncy, and there were times where the blade would get jammed in the grain in the middle of a cut. I also tried to cut 1/4" poplar and the blade snapped the board in half mid-cut (luckily I had a second piece on hand).After cutting the wood, I was certain that I was going to return this, but I decided to use it on a thin metal stake just to see if I'd have better luck with the saw using its metal blade and doing a straightforward, quick cut. Unfortunately the blade got jammed yet again and stripped the coating on the stake by bouncing out of the jammed area and hitting the stake. All in all, if you're desperate for a jigsaw and this is what's available, go for it. If you can afford it, get something higher quality

Got a simple jig saw.. unfortunately, min was defective.. the bolt eoukdnt unsctew.. tge wrench us small and glimpsy.. took excessive time to try yo ubscrew the bokt to insert blade and could not.. will order another with easy blade release.. everything here is screwed on /,off with a tiny wrench.. not practical in my opinion.
