I love the Jargar classic cello A string. Comparable in quality to other brands that cost twice as much.

Nice stringy sweet sound with clear upper partials and at a reasonable price for a cello string.

I had a generic A string (who shall remain anonymous) that sounded really tinny and crappy. I saw this one and knew it had been recommended by cello teachers everywhere, so I ordered it. I ordered it this MORNING and received it this AFTERNOON. WOW. It sounds great. Nice warm tone, good projection. What is not to like? Highly recommended!

I have been trying to find strings I like. I had the same strings on my cello for a few years. I decided to replace them with Spirocores, which I installed myself with no issues. I didn't like the sound of the Spirocore A so a few weeks later I bought a Jargar A. The Jargar A broke while tuning.I was tuning slowly and making sure the string was winding properly. I only got the string up to G before it broke where the silk meets the string. Very odd. If you read the reviews you'll come across the same stories from others. I would not buy these from this seller (I guess Amazon?) again.

This a string is amazing as it is very bright and loud which I like! A string combo I have is the Jargar a and d string including the thomastik spirocore g and c string.

Jargars are good strings although, over years, I’ve learned to check the winding before putting them on. So if you run thumb and first finger along the length of the string, you shouldn’t feel separation of the winding around the string. Sometimes you’ll feel that there’s a string coating that rubs off black in your fingers but that isn’t a problem. After 40+ years as a professional cellist let me add that unless the strings are super old when purchased, they shouldn’t be breaking on you. Take note of where they are breaking. You might have a super tiny rough spot on the bridge, up in the peg or in the nut going into the scroll. That can saw right through a string. I also always scrape some pencil on the bridge and up in the nut so the strings have some extra lubrication. And usually I prefer to buy from a shop but Amazon is so handy. If your strings remain a problem, go to a real violin shop with a luthier. They should be able to help or advise. Some luthiers can be exasperated if you bring in a really cheap/poorly made cello because they can’t do miracles. If they are just being honest and you don’t like the news, well, that’s another problem.

Una cuerda de calidad a un precio increible! (al momento de compra) En el cello la cuerda de La es usualmente la primera en romperse. Esta cuerda tiene la claridad y proyección necesaria para el estudiante avanzado con una sensación suave y comoda. 100% recomendado

I bought the learner's cello on Amazon, there's a cheap one for $250 and the strings that came with it were pretty terrible. This was a significant improvement over those. The one drawback is that it DID break after about ~2 months of usage when I was tuning one time. At this price point, I gladly bought again but will update if it happens if it breaks on me down the line.

Es una marca que mantiene balance entre precio y calidad, no son las mejores pero por lo menos suenan bien y no cuestan tanto, de las que tengo sólo se me ha roto la cuerda A dos veces

This A string was a bothersome string, until I installed the jargar string...it gives my cello a much clearer tone on the upper end. I find there is no hesitation when bowing the string, it reaction time is right now.
