The cables were reversed, i.e. red went to negative and black on the positive on the battery and black to work. Returned and refunded

If you own any item that has a battery and use a trickle charger (which you should for every battery) these should be installed. Riding lawnmower, boat, scooter, etc. These fit well, have a fuse and just work. Recommended.
