My only question is how to paint it (in a way that will last) to match the siding as it is plastic. Also, the two I purchased will always be out of direct sunlight, which should allow for much longer lasting product. My experience was good service and prompt delivery.

I mounted two lights outside my garage with these. Double lap 4 inch dutch siding. If your in anyway a good d.i.y'er u can make these work on any home. I Had to drill out new holes to mount them because the existing holes were on top of the round electrical box. But it all worked out well because the base plate of the lights hide the screws. Had to modify where round metal bracket for base of light installed onto block. Had to move it higher than it was originally was supposed to install, so bottom of base wouldn't hang off bottom of mounting block. With a impact gun, a few screws, and a drill bit you can make this fit your installation. Overall, after mods, it looks well. I'm extremely happy with the outcome. Just know you will probably have to modify installation.Update. I got more of these. Love the way they look. Update!! I've now mounted 4 lights with these mounting blocks. Absolutely satisfied with the look and installation. Bigger lights took modifications but they are beautiful

The point of this product, which is a large plastic mounting plate for outdoor coach lights, is to fit the contour of standard 4" vinyl (or other) siding underneath while providing a solid base for the light. Without it, when you mount most coach lights to siding, you have large visible gaps on the sides that must be filled with caulk. Also, many larger lights will flex vertically because they are unsupported except by the electrical box. This plate eliminates the siding gap, eliminates flexing, and makes things look seamless. I removed the low profile steel box that the electrician contractor installed for a light, and mounted this plate directly onto the OSB siding. The plate provides its own "electrical box" area under the light for wires, etc. The screws for the light's mount will self tap into the mounting holes provided on the plate. I caulked the edges with clear silicon after buttoning things up. It looks super!

Excellent cost to value. Very strong/sturdy. Only issue...the one I received says "white" on the box, but look at the color against a white piece of paper.

Couldn’t find any of the larger mounting blocks that work with 4.5 inch lap siding. I was able to make these work perfectly by notching an additional 1/2 inch off each side (see picture). After notching, the block mated nicely. Notching is easy, I did mine with a hack saw in about 5 mins for both.

They are worth the price. They fit nicely onto the siding and the mounting hardware included was perfect to mount my large outdoor lights! They look great and aren’t big and bulky behind the light like others.
