My initial impression of the InMotion V8S. Coming from the LeaperKim Patton, the V8S quickly becomes underwhelming. Let me elaborate. The V8S was fully charged. I took it to the streets and got on for the first time today. The acclamation period was short to none. I was able to ride it with no issues. I immediately noticed how jarring it was when I went over some bumps. Compared to my Patton, it was a smaller, lighter, and thinner-diameter wheel with no shocks. The top speed of 22 MPH can be easily reached, but my top speed for today was only 18.5 MPH. I didn’t want to push it and have a cutout on the first day. Long story short, the experience left me wanting more. It is a beginner wheel for sure. The good: ⁃ It’s a nimble and easy-to-learn wheel. ⁃ It’s a better transition to a pro wheel than the MTen 3 or 4 because it's a bigger wheel ⁃ It has decent power ⁃ Decent range for a beginner wheel ⁃ The price is right when it’s on sale ⁃ It’s relatively light and thin. ⁃ It has a kill switch. My Patton does not. ⁃ Good size wheel diameter, 16-inch ⁃ Decent build quality ⁃ Protective sleeve option ⁃ Quality trolly handleThe bad: ⁃ No seated riding (Must have for longer rides) ⁃ Anemic brake light ⁃ No shocks. jarring ride. Can’t go off-road ⁃ No power pads. Can’t do jumps or tricks. ⁃ Weak axel. Do not jump, go downstairs, or hop on or off sidewalks, especially for a heavy rider. ⁃ Low-speed limit, 22 MPH ⁃ Not road-worthy. Limited to sidewalks, parking lots, playgrounds, tennis and basketball courts, and bike trails. ⁃ Not as compact or light as an MTen 3 or 4If I had to choose between the MTen 4 and the V8S, I would go with the V8S for the above reasons. It’s just a more capable wheel. The sacrifice is the weight and size. This is a great beginner wheel, especially with the protective sleeve and discount. My purpose for buying this wheel is to learn backward riding, a wheel for friends and my kids to learn on, and someone to come along for the rides!
