Note: I am plugging this headset into the HyperX Amp USB Sound Card (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07GW1SHSN/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&th=1).This replaces the original Cloud Stinger I purchased back in April 2020, which came bundled with the above sound card accessory, so that was the only way I ever used the original headset. However, the right earpad finally gave around the very edge of the rim of the earcup so the pad would no longer stay securely in place. It didn't appear it would be that easy to replace one or both earpads, so I replaced with this updated (2) model of the Cloud Stinger. Two things I mmediately like about this headset are the volume wheel and the more standard "wire" arm microphone. The original Cloud Stinger headset had a volume slider I was almost constantly accidentally moving, and the microphone arm, while flexible to a degree, did not behave like the more traditional "wire" style which offers more flexibility in positioning the microphone. In terms of sound quality, plugged into the same above sound card as the original, I can't really hear any difference, which is good. I was satisfied with the original sound. Perhaps replacement earpads would have been cheaper, but for gaining a volume wheel and the more flexible "wire" microphone arm, this purchase was worth not having to deal with the hassle of trying to get new earpads anchored. Short of buying new earpads direct from HyperX, I wouldn't trust I was getting equivalent replacements anyway. Overall, probably as cheap and easier to just buy a new headset than replacing earpads.I will conclude by mentioning that as a totally blind computer user, I wear this headset on average about 10 hours every day for use with my screen reader, and the comfort of this thing is INSANE! I have been told the microphone sound quality is great during Zoom calls, so this would probably be a great buy for anyone doing lots of calls.I bought for comfort and the fact it folds so can fit in a bag if I need to take with me out and about. The microphone muting and unmuting simply by swinging it up out of the way (mute) or down (unmuted) is a nice touch. A bit more difficult with this "wire" arm, but not impossible if one simply grabs the plastic part of the arm where it joins the headset. Probably overall better than grabbing the arm itself anyway; just tried it and can flip it up and down with one finger without issues.I can't report on the DTS:X since I don't use it for that sort of enhanced audio as would exist in gaming.

This is the best $50 range gaming header there is, well at least compared to 8 other headsets I tested. The spatial sound accuracy is unmatched at this price range. Unbelievable sound performance. To top it off, the comfort is also unmatched. You can actually forget you’re wearing them. The clamping force is one the lightest I’ve worn and that’s a huge plus for my big head. The only negative about these is the microphonics. You can hear when you rub the audio cord or if it brushes against your shirt. You can’t hear this when playing a game though so I don’t consider it a big negative.

This is nice low budget headset. I used it exclusively for gaming on my PS5. Works out of the box not issues. I had an older HyperX Cloud Stinger headset and it was pretty good. But this one is better. It fits my head better than that older one did. And the volume dial is better than the slider. Sound quality on this Stinger 2 is good, and the mic works well. The flip up mic mute works well also. This is a relatively inexpensive gaming headset and great bargain. I would get it again if needed.Update: After using these for a while there is one thing that could be better on these. The pads/foam for the ear cups could be thicker. Over time I find that the inside is pushing on my ears. My ears do not stick out far from my head. I do wear glasses but most over the ear headphones don't do this. So, at this point I would not get these again if needed.Update: I have been using these a bit and would have to downgrade my original review to a 3 star. This might not apply to everyone but I have found that the ear cups are not deep enough. There needs to be a bit more foam so the speaker cover doesn't press on my ears. My ears do not stick out far from my head so I am thinking this may be an issue for others. Quality wise these are good and they sound good.

I purchased this headset for my work from home job and it paired to the laptop quickly and effortlessly with the dungle. Works with our Cisco system for answering phone calls. There is no lag or delay in the conversation during use and can also hear the beginning whisper of the call before a customer comes on the line. I love the flip up to mute mic so that I know when it's up my customers can't hear me if I have to do a quick sneeze or cough. It's very light weight doesn't feel heavy on your head, wear for 8 hours a day with no problems. The volume control on the right ear piece is easily accessible and can hear my calls perfectly. Highly recommend for anyone working from home that wants a great headset for an affordable price. Will definitely be purchasing this headset again if the one I purchased ever stops working.

Bought this to replace a headset I thought was broken (but ended up being something else). That aside, it's comfortable, it sounds good with both voice from the mic and the sound in the headphones. The biggest plus is the ear cups. They are not that crappy pleather stuff. But quality cloth/cushioned mesh material. Which will last WAY longer. Wish more headphone makers would use this material!Update: I have now had this since Sept. 2023 - and up until this point, June 2024, it had been good. But this week, I started having issues with the headset - mainly the right earpiece losing sound occasionally and I now hear static when I adjust the volume button. I'm not sure if there is a loose connection between the left earpiece where the cord comes out to go to my computer - and the right headset, where the volume control is. Very disappointing, and I can't return it at this point as it's been about 9 months since I bought it. I suppose I could reach out to HyperX and RMA it maybe if they have a warranty - but then I'd be without a headset. :(

Very comfortable and the sound is very good. Had them for a month and so far they have been very good. For the money it seems like a good buy.
