There is a ton of choices in drives available but after previous experience I decided to repurchase the 1TB HP SSD drive. It runs silently, no heat signature and is unfailingly dependable. I have the first drive almost at capacity with huge gaming files some over 200GB each, the drive and the games themselves stored on it operate flawlessly with no issues or lag whatsoever. The product is competitively priced as well. It is light and compact for travel if desired. I have it installed on an HP Victus gaming laptop. I am completely satisfied and would purchase the item again.

Il disco è più piccolo di quanto non sembri in foto, ha una parte magnetica che nasconde i cavi ma sopratutto ha un rapporto qualità prezzo ottimale. Utilizzo come time machine.

Excellent HD. Sturdy and Reliable. I am a writer, and wanted an external HD to backup (all) of my work during the past 25 years. This HD is not only compact, it is fast, reliable, and will make an excellent source for backup in the years to come. This is my second HP HD which will serve as a redundant backup device.HD comes with the black cable and adapter shown below the device. However, I purchased the silver cable above which doesn't need an adapter. Excellent Device! Worth every penny I paid. I hope this review is helpful.

I've been using this for 6 months with marvelous success. It is significantly faster than a flash drive it replaced. I'm actually using this SSD as a cache drive for an on-line application. Attached to a USB 3.0 port, it runs amazingly well. Various applications, running on a Windows-10 system, run much faster on this SSD than they did on flash drives. This portable SSD is also wonderful for moving large files between one computer and another. After 6 months of daily use, it has shown no signs of wearing out. I'm quite happy with it!

This NEW HP Portable SSD P500 (1TB) Hard Drive is pure TRASH. Considering that this is where one stores all one's important files and irreplaceable photos, IT NEEDS TO BE DEPENDABLE. It isn't. When I got it, it worked just fine. It is plug n play, so simply connected it to the HP laptop and started to transfer ALL our photos and important documents, for safekeeping. On the second day of transferring our files to it, ALL OF A SUDDEN it just stopped working and it disappeared from view on our laptop, so we could no longer access ANY of our files and photos... NOTHING. For all effect it was as if it was not even there. Other devices connected to the same USB-C connection just fine. Tried it on another laptop and same result... NOTHING there. Tried the USB-C to USB-C cord on another device and it worked just fine. Just this HP Portable SSD P500 hard drive is the problem, ceasing to work/be read by the second day of use.Called Amazon Tech Support (Shawneil). He said that there was NO WARRANTY because it was bought thru a non HP seller, even though the sale was from "The HP Store"... go figure that one out. He tried to solution it directly but couldn't. So he called HP Tech Support, which gave us the run around for 56 mins. He acknowledged our frustration with HP Tech Support and managed to just give me a refund of $59.99 of the $64.99 that I paid for it, plus tax. Well, something is better than nothing, since I CANNOT RETURN the product because it has all my files and photos LOCKED and UNACCESSIBLE within it.Just the same, I will never buy another HP product again, it they are now building such CR*P.However, I have to acknowledge the Amazon Tech Support representative, Shawneil, for excellent Customer Service. His efforts and understanding of my frustrations with this product, went a long way to make my grievance less stressful. Thank you Shawneil.

HP has fallen down heavily on the quality of this SSD as it stopped working the very next day. I should have never bought this drive to start with. Backed up my whole computer data and recycled the laptop. Now the HP SSD has nothing but errors, I have lost all my Data. Worst experience ever. Never going to buy any HP product ever. I dont know why Amazon is still selling this extremely low quality product for $125, this is now like a paper weight.

I use this drive as a compact and safe backup for all my media files like movies, music, and photos. It is smaller and slimmer than it looks in the pictures and I am very pleased with it. It works well and transfers data at high speeds, my Surface pro recognized it as soon as it was plugged in and I am impressed with the overall performance and quality. It is built tough. This is my first SSD and I may buy only SSD from now on. My data is safe and this small external drive is very reliable and I recommend it. I liked it so much, I am planning on buying another one as a gift for a friend. This HP P700 came in a nicely sealed box. It comes with 1 USB to USB-C adaptor and a USB-C to USB 3 cable, capable of delivering transfer speed up to 10Gbps!The connectors are very well built. I have no doubt they will last many years unless I exert some severe physical abuse. The device is very light. It is almost the size of a credit card and about the same thickness as an iPhone. The SSD is enclosed in a solid metal body (I think it is aluminum!).The main reason why I purchased HP P700 as my very first portable SSD is that the data transfer speed is twice as fast the SanDisk Extreme SSD but the price is around $50 less. Also compared to my SanDisk Extreme SSD, the device is slightly cooler to touch. The performance of the device is solid.Overall, given the nice design (I love how compact the shape is and the ability to put the cable inside the magnet enclosure), solid performance, and small form factor, I am giving it 5 stars.
