Bought this in early December for Christmas. Product quit working last week, won’t turn on or charge. Reached out directly to the company I have heard absolutely nothing back. Pretty bad customer service for a $300 toy.UPDATE. Horizon is sending a replacement for this unit. They requested a video showing that it would not turn on, and then authorized a replacement to be sent. They at least made good on the warranty, we will see how long this one lasts.

This is my 3rd Hoover board. This one is great. It’s fast and even will play music for my son. In the past we have had problems with charging on other devices. This one is great. Well worth the price!! Only con for us is it does leave black marks on carpet. But that’s really not a con, it’s a 10 whipping around places he shouldn’t ;)

I’m not sure if I have lemon or if these are just poorly made but the hover board jitters for about a second every few minutes when my daughter rides it. It seems super unsafe, the last one we had only lasted about a year but the warranty is only 90 days. So I bought a new one for Christmas, which I now need to return. My daughter loves riding it so maybe I will try a different brand. I strongly recommend against purchasing this product.

Update 9/12: The small wheels don't work well on grass or uneven terrain.Out of the box and I’m trying it in the backyard where it’ll mostly be used by the grandkids. We’ve a competitor’s hoverboard with larger wheels, and more expensive, that the kids love. And I wanted to mix it up with this Horizon Hoverboard from the Hover-1 store. The wheels are smaller and encounter difficulty on uneven ground, but used with an available kart, it might be considerable fun, as the turning radius is severe. This Hoverboard came charged but per directions I gave it a full charge. The LED’s front and back are bright, as are the flashers and turn signals. I haven’t downloaded the APP, however, as I think sounds take away from the initial experience of learning to control movement. And the initial speed is good for now. We haven’t had it very long and I can’t remark about battery life or product longevity, but I will revisit this review when appropriate.

This thing makes me feel ancient. It is just so cool and futuristic it makes me feel like an out of touch old woman just looking at it. I’ve been fascinated by hoverboards since I first saw people riding them in my neighborhood several years ago and now I finally get to sate my curiosity by trying it out for myself.First impression; this thing looks really nifty. It’s a bit ostentatious with it’s high-gloss metallic rainbow-y finish and slick LED lighting but it doesn’t look too goofy. It’s got some heft to it, much heavier than it looks but that’s a good thing because it feels very sturdy. The wheels are squat and made of thick rubber material and they have some grip to them.Setting this hoverboard up for the first time is simple. The included charger has an LED light that glows red while charging and turns green when fully charged. The board also has a battery power indicator on its face so you can easily keep track of how much power is left while using it.If it’s your first time riding a hoverboard I recommend doing it with a spotter to help you find your balance and help catch you if you fall over. Riding this hoverboard is not difficult exactly but it is different. The key is to find your center of gravity and keep in tune with it while you are riding. There are 4 sensors on top of the board (two under each foot) and they are very responsive - they sense when you shift your weight from front to back or side to side and that’s how you control the board. I.E. shift your weight forward and the board will speed up and when you shift your weight back into your heels it will slow to a stop and then roll backwards. It takes practice and it’s scary at first but not as difficult as it might sound. This board has some fun features. In addition to the cool led lighting on the front and back it also has bluetooth speakers built into it so you can stream music to it from your phone while you are riding around.UPDATE 10/10/2021: after a couple months of occasional use, mostly by my teenage brothers, this hoverboard still works fine but the fenders have gotten chipped up. The fenders over the wheels are extremely brittle and they stick out a bit so they get cracked and pieces break off VERY easily. They are made of thin plastic so you can try gluing them back together but it won’t last long.
