Anytime that you are putting something into your ear, it is never recommended unless a doctor is doing it. Now this device gives you the camera, so hopefully you don't rupture your eardrum. I am not a big fan of scooping out earwax, as I rather qtips and dirty ears. It is very cool to see inside, what if you think a spider took residence while you were asleep! haha, but for real, I wouldn't use the "spoons" but I think the video is very nice just to keep an eye on things before you call the ear doctor.

This HD Digital Otoscope takes very high quality pictures and videos. It is basically a hand held microscope. An app needs to be downloaded and installed to use. The kit comes with attachments meant to extract ear wax, but I found that the attachments are too hard to use. If you see excessive ear wax with this scope it is best to go to a professional to extract it because it it so close to the eardrum.

It seems I ordered this otoscope by AnyScope too fast. I got as far as reading that it’s compatible with Android 8.0+ and “supports OTG and UVC functions”, but missed the part where it says you have to download their app to use it. To me, OTG means no app is needed, which was what I wanted. There are other brands out there that don't require an app, so why does this one? In my experience, it’s usually the app that fails, not the device itself. At most, I'd use this once a week, and I don’t need any more limited-use apps clogging up my phone and asking for permission to access anything and everything on my personal device. I downloaded it long enough to check that the scope works, and it does. Now I’ve removed the app and will pass the scope on to someone who doesn’t mind sideloading an unnecessary app just to use a glorified external camera.

This digital otoscope is easy to use and produces images of amazing quality. The instructions are great, and it was easy to set up. Just download the app and plug the cable into your phone. My ear canals are very narrow and tend to get plugged with wax and dead skin. I'm quite hesitant to stick anything in there, but having the speculum attached to this otoscope helps to guide me. It makes it a lot easier to explore the inside of my ears in order to figure out whether I need to clean them.

For those wondering what the inside of their ears look like, this is a tool to use at home. The benefit of this version is that there is no battery or bluetooth connection so it is much less of a security risk (compared to downloading a random third party app software onto your device). The downside, however, is that this is not a wireless device and it must be plugged into your android or apple device. It does come with a USB-C as well as an Apply lightning cable which allows multiple devices to use it. There are a couple tools included in the kit such as silicone heads to scoop out residual earwax. The depth perception is not great so there is a real risk of rupturing the ear drum with these tools if the user is not careful and does not have a steady hand. It’s nice to be able to save photos / videos, making it easy to monitor progress if undergoing treatment for an infection or other issue. Overall, it's nice tool for families and pets, as long as it is used properly.

I'm not new to using an otoscope. I bought a wireless model last year that turned out to be very frustrating to use. At first, I thought, how cool is that, wireless and rechargeable? Not so cool, you first have to connect the otoscope through a dedicated Wi-Fi platform, that keeps shutting down unexpectedly. The other issue is to keep in mind that otoscopes are not something you use on a daily basis. It may be months before the need arises to check your ear canal; that's when you find that rechargeable batteries are not so cool when you turn it on and find the batteries are dead from sitting around. We'll not with this one, there are NO batteries, and there is NO WI-FI to connect to; this otoscope connects directly with a cable right to your cell phone. Simple. It has a decent app that lets you see and take high-definition photos and, yes, videos. The end of the otoscope has 6 LED lights. The ears are not the only orifice you can examine. There are endless possibilities to use it; it can also be used as a strong, powerful, portable magnifying scope.

Quite a complete kit, with earwax removal tools and protective covers. Very clear picture. Great for looking at sore throats too. You will need to download a free app, which worked fine on my Pixel 8 running Android 14.There are included cables for iPhone and usb C. Great thing to have when you need it.

This was very easy to use. Quick setup, just download the app, clean all parts and get to looking. I found absolutely nothing, but the image was crystal clear and well lighted. I am glad to have the tool handy in the extremely unlikely event I get something stuck in my ear.It is nice that it comes with both a USB C and Lightning cable attachment so this can be used on different devices. The kit also includes alcohol pads and specialized tiny cotton swabs for cleaning the camera lens. This review is for the "HD Digital Otoscope, Video Ear Scope Otoscope with Light, AnyScope Ultra Clear View Ear Camera with Ear Wax Removal Tools, Compatible with iPhone and Android Devices (Silver)"
