Bought it for the eclipse. It was working great but the clouds moved in the way so no pics. It was the perfect size and easy to put on with rubber band.

I've got fantastic Eclipse shots after cutting a circular filter to fit between my lens and a screw on UV filter.

An inexpensive way to make a solar-filter for my big telephoto. The lens diameter is such that buying a threaded solar filter would have been prohibitively expensive - especially for my intended one-time use during the solar eclipse. I took a cardboard box, just larger than the diameter of my lens, and cut a hole in the top (where I then taped this filter film over the opening. The box slips over my lens, securely holding the filter film across the lens. It worked perfectly and I was able to get some nice shots of the sun - without spending a fortune on a glass screw-on filter for a one-time event.

I cut the filter to fit over my binocular lenses and used a rubber band to hold it in place. Works great.

Plan ahead and get a real solar filter, these are just not worth the time and effort to make them work.

It does well to protect from the sun and for so cheap you can't complain too much, but it's definitely not as good as a proper solar filter for your telescope. It's hard to tell whether it's the film but I'm unable to get a perfect focus of the sun while using the film.

Photos through the filter came out very hazy. It was not possible to focus well using this filter. Very disappointed, as I bought this for the solar eclipse and by the time I realized that the product didn't work, it was too late to order a different one. I had a much better experience 7 years ago in the previous eclipse with the filter that I bought then. Stay away from this brand.
