About this item

  • Grade 2 titanium has high corrosion resistance, a high strength-to-weight ratio, and the approximate strength of 6061-T6 aluminum.
  • 0.125" Diameter, 12" Length
  • Half-Hard
  • Titanium Grade 2 is typically used in aerospace components, automotive components, cryogenic vessels, heat exchangers, condenser tubing, and pickling baskets.
  • Meets ASTM-B348, ASME-SB-348

The grade 2 titanium round rod is unpolished, meets American Society for Testing and Materials International ASTM B348 and American Society of Mechanical Engineers ASME SB-348 specifications, and has a standard tolerance. The grade 2 titanium alloy is made from 98.9% titanium, is stronger than grade 1 titanium, and offers a balance of weldability, formability, and corrosion resistance.

Titanium is a corrosion-resistant material that has one of the highest strength-to-weight ratios of all metals. It can be alloyed with elements such as aluminum, vanadium, iron, and molybdenum to increase properties such as strength, corrosion resistance, and toughness.

Tensile strength, used to indicate the material's overall strength, is the peak stress it can withstand before it breaks. Corrosion resistance describes the material's ability to prevent deterioration caused by atmosphere, moisture, or other medium. Toughness describes the material's ability to absorb energy before breaking, while hardness (commonly measured as indentation hardness) describes its resistance to permanent surface deformation. Formability indicates how easily the material can be permanently shaped.

Looks like a quality product. For folks using the metric system - its not a thick bar. See my photos to get a better sense of its dimensions.

I didn't use this for the purpose most people would. I used this and twisted into a spring shape to weight down fresh vegetables for my aquarium.Worked great for the purpose trimmed off the excess and smoothed the edges.

Its titanium! Gave it 3 stars because mine showed up bent and i really needed them straight.

Good, sturdy rod. I used it for a lab sample, and it works fine.

I'm using this titanium rod as a ground for a saltwater aquarium. The rod has been submerged into the saltwater for nearly a week now, and there is no sign of corrosion (as would be seen with all other metals). This was a good buy for the application. Thank you!

I don't know if I can love a titanium rod but it is as it is decribed. 24 inches, round, unpolished. I will be using it as a wire to attach to a titanium electrode. I gave it 5 stars anyways!
