Haven't taken my kayak out much but this worked well for my 10' kayak especially for the price.

Great Product! Good quality and design. Advertised for kayaks but works just as well with surfboards, paddle boards, etc. Easy and convenient to put on the car and disassemble for storage.. It is not too big so it does not take up too much space in your trunk or garage. Overall a very useful product and I would recommend it!

I bought these to carry my SUP on the roof of my car, Toyota Yaris. I'm 67 years old and was able to easily and safely install it on my car and drove an hour. The SUP never budged an inch! Great purchase and worth it!

I've been using foam blocks for five years with my kayak. Do they work? Yes. Are they cheaper than this? Yes. You can get by just fine with the foam blocks. However, this system is a step up from it and worth the extra money. The number one thing to focus on improving at when getting into kayaking in my opinion is getting good at car topping it and making the transportation from your garage to the lake less of a pain. It's why so many people buy one and it collects dust. Anything you can do to make car topping less of a hassle is really important. Most of that comes from technique and experience, but these also help for two reasons:1) They're quicker to slap on your roof than the foam blocks. Not by a ton, but definitely less of a hassle. You don't have to spend time making sure they're lined up with each other and centered on your roof like you do with the foam blocks. Every little bit of reduced friction helps, these are faster and easier to get on your roof every time you use them.2) The wider profile of these straps makes the "pivot" part when you're car topping more forgiving. Instead of having to aim for a 12'' foam block, you have a much wider area to "land" on. It's noticeably easier than foam blocks in this regard. So, while the foam blocks DO work and ARE cheaper, IMO these are worth the extra spend. The quality of materials is solid, straps are nice and thick and the friction clasps are really great. I've taken my kayak on the highway (55mph) with more flimsy hardware than this. Pleasantly surprised by the build quality. While the points above may seem like small gains in ease of use and time saved, if you add that up over five years it's not insignificant. Technique is key, but if you're on the fence between these and the foam blocks I would say 100% worth the extra cash upfront. One important note - if you are hoping this will fit a canoe like I was, these are NOT wide enough to bridge the gunnels, at least on mine. I would assume it's the same for most canoes, mine is a 15.5' Pelican Dare Devil. Attaching a pic of the width of these pads for reference - there is 31'' of padding from side to side (hard to get a pic when snugged up, but it's 31'' wide). If your canoe's gunnels are wider than that, these aren't going to work. That said, even though these don't work with my canoe, I still kept them because they are GREAT for the kayak.

Very easy to use. Very sturdy as well. I was hesitant to drive faster than 70 mph but I drove at 80 mph and no issues at all.

This roof rack is very well made and easy to put on your vehicle. I used it on my 2018 Lincoln MKX to haul my kayak to various lakes for fishing. The kayak was well secured with the straps that is provided with the rack pads. The pads are well padded and supported the kayak without damaging my roof. I have already recommended this to other people. Very happy with this purchase.

I bought these so we could take our kayak for our son to take to a birthday party. Typically, we toss our kayak in the back of our truck as it's a short drive to the lake. This time, we had to drive a couple of hours and our truck was having some issues. They came quickly, are easy to install, and store up nicely in the bag that it came with. It also comes with all of the straps you need. I will say, installation takes several minutes and it is best if you have two people. Still, I do appreciate that these were affordable, especially compared to what it would cost to purchase the cross bars + the accessories we would have needed to put a kayak on top of our car. Definitely recommend.

This is super easy to use and very low profile so it is easy to load a kayak. However the downside is that when it rains or should I say pours the straps will leak into the veh onto the interior. So do not use these straps if your expecting a lot of rain. I’ve used different straps and no leakage. I have a car that is only a few years old so I would think it’s a strap problem and not a vehicle problem.

I've been looking for something like this to carry a Kayak I plan to buy since my SUV didn't come with rails to mount a roof rack. I've been holding off on buying a fishing Kayak (I just retired) because my SUV isn't made to accommodate anything of that size.I didn't want to spend a ton of money having it retrofitted or buying expensive metal rails that clamp to the door frame. These pads fold up in a bag and mount so quickly with one strap each. They fit snug and don't slide around because of the rubberized non-skid coating on the bottom.I'm pretty tall so I placed mine through the grab handles inside the car to keep the strap up a little higher which gives me plenty of head room.I placed the surfboard on the rack for perspective so it isn't tied down in the photo, but you can see there's plenty of clearance between the board and the roof.I highly recommend these pads, especially if your car doesn't have roof rack rails. They are extremely well made and durable. I really like that they come off when you're not using them and fold up to store easily in the included nylon bag. BONUS: They also come with all the tie-downs and ingenious loops that fit in the gap of your hood or trunk to tie down your boat, board, or whatever. I won't have to buy a thing to successfully secure a kayak to the roof of my car.
