The banjo pan is the newest addition to the gold prospecting community. Using the Degree of separation principle gold cube has come up with a pan that can be used wet, dry & even underwater! as time has passed gold cube has made modifications that increase the size & Depth. They have also added a drop bottom, made it nesting, added colors & made the Vortex matting removable so the clean out can be accomplished in the pan itself. Further testing has shown that the banjo pan could be used wet or dry & was even found to work submersible. Having a pan that was this versatile yet so compact has changed the way you can look for gold.

I have probably watched every example video that exists for the Banjo Pan and I have tried multiple different methods of using it but I always lose gold that I test it with. I usually test by using about 20 small pieces and very often I am losing 6 or 7 of those pieces when running material through it.I suppose it can be useful to sample if there is gold in an area because the gold will stick out very blatantly in the vortex matting, but no matter how many times I try to make it work, I can't develop any trust or confidence in this pan.

Let me start by saying that I have not used this yet. For some reason I never realized this thing has a nugget trap in it prior to the riffles. I work beach sands that might kick a picker once or twice a year. Otherwise, I get super fine gold. My thought was to quickly work the pan down to fine cons, dunk this in a bucket to clean and repeat. thereby increasing my productivity with speed. And it may do that, but I also get a bonus of a nugget trap full of black sand. The pan itself only holds maybe a quart of material, so it has to be classified before in some way to be worked. I don't know how you could miss a nugget in that, so I just don't think a nugget trap is beneficial. Not a big fan of the pan shape either. You will need to classify material first or hand pick rocks out. The sides are very steep. On the bright side: I think the basic idea is good. The material is pretty solid.

The mat doesn't catch any gold for me. I imagine anyone would lose a lot of gold. There's no actual rifles to it.

Works as expected. Have panned here in NV and have tried both dry and wet. Found several nuggets and a few ounces of fine gold. Payed for it's self twice over.
