If you see someone using this you know they did a research and it’s a professional, flash quality is amazing, build quality is good but I wish the horse shoe was metal. But the power is amazing, I have two in my case

The Godox ecosystem is a an amazing thing for photographers and this flash is the start. The cost of the flash is very low for the versatile of the product. I have been able to use this to get perfect lighting in low light ceremonies and events. The amount of uses for the device is incredible, from using at events, to product photography and even sports and can’t recommend an other starter flash.

Been using for over a year and it’s been fun learning and a lifesaver in a lot of instances! I use ttl mode mainly and it’s great for wedding receptions of creative photography.

Can’t go wrong with the v1, suitable for on and off camera, TTL when needed, very quick recycle times and longer battery life compared to the Profoto equivalent

This flash stayed on throughout a 10 hour wedding. It was the only spotlight the couple had for their first dances and it was incredibly easy to use. Def. Add it to your collection!

I read all the reviews and was pointed to the Godox flash over the Sony flash to use with my Sony A7III camera. I had an outdoor session and I was excited to finally use my new flash! I was walking with my client and the GodoxV1 literally fell off my camera while still locked into the hotshoe and the flash went into the grass!! I was utterly embarrassed and quickly threw the flash in my bag. I had to really work to get the piece that remained out of the hotshoe. I contacted Godox through Amazon and they pointed me to a cheap hotshoe replacement for about $20 and that was that. No exchange, no warranty, no surprise.... I am now wishing I would have just purchased the Sony so I didn't have to now install this replacement piece and hope I get the electrical connectors right. Feeling let down and embarrassed that my client saw my cheap flash fall apart on me.

This flash uses a round flash head. Similar to the Pro Photo version. Which costs around 800-1000. This version of godox is suppose to create a softer flash pattern. It's a very powerful light source. The total output is 76w/s so it's putting out a nice amount of light. The rechargeable lithium Ion battery pack lasts incredibly long. 500 shots at full power. It used a 2.4ghz wireless system and can work in conjunction with other godox flashes. I use it with the godox x pro-s transmitter up to 100 meters in distance. They now use a locking mechanism on the hot shoe of my camera which I feel is much more secure than turning the dial to tighten the flash. I like to modify my/with a large soft box, a grid, or umbrella depending on the location I’m shooting. It also works really well when bouncing/off of the ceiling and walls creating a nice soft affect on my subjects. The head swivels and rotates backwards A few degrees which is really nice given that the other models do not do this the same way. TTL seems to be more spot on when getting consistent skin tones from your subject. Overall I would recommend this flash. It is high-quality and only a fraction of the cost when compared to pro photos version. It has a lot to offer and I will definitely be using it on my future gigs. I think I would ask does a really good job making high-quality products at an affordable price.

Recently Got this V1 to use on my sony A7III. It pairs up well with it. I tried the 860ii but not much impressed. I felt the new V1 collar is much more easier to connect to the hot shoe. It can also be controlled as a wireless slave unit from a command unit on camera like the Godox X-Pro. That i see as one big advantage. i am also impressed with the shape of the head is one of its most noticeable features. it is similar to H200R round head adapter for Godox AD200 . so any of the modifiers and filter of Godox AK-R1 kit will fit. The battery, the new collar, and button rearrangement are very needed upgrade ,. Overall, it feels like a fairly solid unit, with a light output and recycle time.
