With the Outback double door you'll be able to access your mail by standing behind the mailbox, away from any busy roads. The rust-resistant galvanized steel body combined with internal door braces and body straps strengthens the mailbox against impact. The larger capacity prevents packages from being squeezed inside and allows larger boxes along with padded mailers and letters to fit without damage. Its traditional style matched with a sleek powder coated finish make the Outback a favorite, especially in high-traffic neighborhoods.

Haven’t installed it yet but drawer pulls are missing in the box. Also, didn’t read carefully enough when purchasing; fasteners are not included. I will be contacting manufacturer today about door pulls. Beautiful mailbox and a hefty size! Made in USA!

I got this mailbox to go in a brick mailbox that was built for me. It is a good size and good quality.

This mailbox is very well designed and engineered, thicker and much stronger than standard rural mailboxes. The only problem I noticed was the door hinge points are rivets which are not durable. One came completely loose before I ever installed the box. Noting the possible durability issue with the rivets, I replaced all 4 rivets with 1/4" stainless bolts utilizing nylock nuts for a very pleasing hinge result. If you repeat my process, use a spacer washer between the lid hinge and the box body at the hinge joint. Only snug-tighten bolts for a very smooth hinge operation of the doors. Magnetic closures at the top of both doors ensures repeatable lasting secure door closure protecting contents from the weather elements. Flag could have been designed a little more durable, but is adjustable. In our case, the flag is rarely if ever used, so not a negative factor for us. We are very pleased with the fabrication quality and expected durability of this box. Box on the far left in the photos is this box.

Love the fact that it opens up on both ends.

This mailbox went into pillars we just installed. It was perfect size and has opening in the back so we don't have to go on the street side for safety. Strangely enough, it was the only one that was this size and had pack end opening. Works exactly has we wanted it

This is by and far the best Amazon purchase I’ve made in years. I’ve had this mailbox for a couple of months now and I’m still excited about it. I just purchased a second one for our other property because both that one, as well as ours require you to get on the main road to check your mailbox. With this, I no longer have to do that, and the size of it so that it can accommodate packages is just an added plus. Such a great value, the quality of it seems very well built, and the magnet strength seems quite durable so far, but honestly, I just love it and would buy it again, and again.

I bought this mailbox exclusively due to the larger size of the box and the dual doors. As I am disabled and have difficulty walking into the street to retrieve my mail from the front of the box, I specifically sought out a dual-door option where I can get the mail from the rear of the box. If this is important to you, I definitely recommend this box. Do keep in mind that to use the rear door, you need to mount this on a pole that does not obstruct the rear door. The box is very well made and assembly is straight forward. The only reason that I deducted points from ease of installation is that the screw holes for this box did not exactly line up with the screw holes on an optional mounting plate I bought from the same manufacturer that claimed compatibility with all Gibralter mailboxes. That being said, they did line up sufficiently well to do the job, but some screws had to be put in at an angle and that risks complications if you don't take a little extra care.
