I've been using GHS bass strings since 1989, I have always been pleased with the quality and the low price. I use the extra light gauge strings because they suit my playing style, and they sound more like a bass should sound when compared to piccolo bass strings. In all of the years I've been using GHS bass strings, I can only remember breaking one string... And that's saying something, because I play fairly aggressively with a 1.25mm pick.

I’ve always been hesitant to go round wound with a neck w/o frets but these work well and sound great. Decent price also.

Classic GHS round wound sound, just like Flea. Love the tone and balance of these strings! These are my go-to rounds.

I've tried some of the most recommended string brands out there.I always come back to GHS Boomers. To my way of playing, all other strings just sound weak. And these strings last forever!

I have these on a Schecter P-5 that I use a lot. These are good strings, and I am buying another set for my Jazz, but they’re not mind blowing. I find these very durable, stay in tune well, and the red silks look kinda snazzy. One thing I do like is that they seem to have a little less tension than some strings, and for round wounds they’re pretty easy on your fingertips. This works well for me when I’m playing a 4 hour gig. As for the sound? Well, they’re…..strings I guess? Nothing remarkable, very “vanilla” sounding. Decent low B as far as sound, but nothing that will make your sound “stand out”. For me, this works out perfectly for what I do. Match up to a good bass with a decent preamp and you can get sounds you probably like, anyway. I do like how comfortable these are, and I’m not hesitating buying another set. If your strings define your sound or you want something with a lot of character, these wouldn’t be my choice. But a good workhorse string, for sure.

Really pleased with the strings. The sound was a bit samey at the start but they've softened nicely and are mellow on the highs and big at the lows, even for roundwounds. I'll definitely be buying them again, although before these I'll try the medium gauge set, these light gauge are easier on the fingers at lower tension but this has meant I've had to set the action a little higher than before.

I was not sure about strings this light, but decided to try a set and I am very happy I did. They are so easy to play, fast passages and bends are a breeze. As for the tone I was expecting them to sound thin and weak, but that was not the case at all. There is plenty of low end punch with the same high end zing that I always loved from Boomers. They sound just as good as heavier strings, I honestly could hardly believe it. I stopped playing bass and starting playing guitar for about 6-7 years; recently have picked up the bass again. After being used to guitar strings I found it hard to play the 45-105 or 45-100 strings I used before. This set is a pleasure to play. It is so easy on the fretting hand, and I have developed a much lighter touch with my plucking hand and this has helped me a great deal. I feel like my playing has improved noticeably. I love these strings, I wish I would have tried this gauge years ago.UPDATE:I loved the way the strings sounded and felt on my Jazz bass with passive SD Quarter Pound pickups. The only downside is the strings went dead quicker than most. They only lasted about 2 months, which is not that long compared to most strings. I also bought a set for my new bass, a Ibanez SR with active electronics, and I did not like them on that bass. They were lacking in midrange punch and I couldn't get the action adjusted the way I like it. I took them off the SR after a couple of days and got a set of 95-40 Boomers. The 95's are still pretty light but still sound like a bass should. I don't think I will ever go back to the 105 strings I used to play.

When i got the first packet i got as far as putting the last string on my bass, then i realized that there was no g string included! Very annoyed i contacted amazon and they sent a new packet within two days. Turns out it was a mistake and i got a refund, the strings sound amazing. They are best for slap bass lines but they sound great all around. I would definitely recommend these despite the mishap.
