Worked perfectly for my Armstrong Concept air conditioner. I heard my fan making a high pitch noise and ran over to check it out. It wasn't spinning, but when I would bump it, it would start. It turned out to be the start capacitor. Ordered this one as a replacement, took about 10 minutes to replace, and I was back in business baby! Saved me big bucks from having to call a repair man, and also saved me from buying an expensive fan motor.

Old genteq capacitor lasted 10 years. This direct replacement should last us another 10! Much cheaper than calling a hvac company to come out and replace.

I did my homework, and the GE units were the ones you wanted if you knew what was going on. GE sold off that division, but this is what it is now. They were smart enough not to "fix" anything. Went in as it should, zero problems and, from what I gather, this will last the life of the unit.

I purchased this capacitor as an in-place replacement for the old GE part #97F9834 and it was a breeze to install. The geometry is exactly right and it works as expected. The shipping time was longer as it ships from the US but the price and the quality (I hope) were worth the wait. For such a price I am willing to keep another capacitor on the shelf just in case of an urgent need.

Exact same as described. Works great. The seller took 2 weeks and deleted my order the first time and it took a week to get after ordering again but did receive it. So 3 weeks for shipping in total

My 20 year old rheem rpka-031jaz was turning on the fan but clearly not cooling the house. After several hours the temp was the same as when it started.Having no clue about HVAC systems I contacted a few companies and watched a few videos on youtube. It turns out one of the things most likely to fail is also the easiest to replace. Go figure!I pulled the plug on my outside disconnect, removed the two screws to the access panel and there it was in all its glory- the capacitor. I took several pictures of the old wiring scheme and used an INSULATED screwdriver from harbor freight (Doyle) to discharge any potential stored energy (make contact with several of the posts at the same time). The wires came off easily and with a few screws the unit was removed. The capacitor was so old and rusted it was impossible to tell which post was herm, c, and fan. After watching a video for a similar unit I found out orange- control, purple- herm, red(ish)- fan. Within 5 minutes of the new one arriving I had it installed and the unit back on blowing cold air. While I cannot speak to its longevity I can say it saved me at least $80 in service charge and repair/parts. Seeing how easy it was, I'd happily do it again.

Was very happy the cap came very quickly and, as others have said, saved me about $175 in replacement case. Installed very easily, but I have some background in dealing with high voltage...very important to know what you're doing and taking safeguards. Yes, the cap needs to be fully discharge among other things first. Only one complaint. The cap came with a white dot which indicates factory testing at as much as 6% less than nominal capacitance. I don't have a tester myself, but I know that adequate capacitance is part of what protects the fan and compressor and provides smoother starts. I wonder if Amazon buyers get the white dots, and the pros get the yellow dots (yellow means at least nominal capacitance or higher). Anyone else getting white dots?

This weekend the pump that runs my hot tub jets stopped working....when I turned the power on, the pump just hummed but would not start. I could feel the impeller was able to turn freely, so that means the bearings were not the issue. I guessed (and later verified) that my pump had a bad start capacitor (cap). The cap on the pump was one of those mounted externally like a piggy back, so it was very easy to access and remove. I didn't need to remove the pump or even the main wiring...just two small screws on the metal cover over the cap.In the attached photo you can see the old/bad cap on the far right. This thing is marked 35uf (microfarad) and 370 volts, and as you can clearly see, it only has two terminals on top.I guess I was in a bit of a rush, and I am NOT an expert on capacitors, so I quickly ran a search on Amazon and found this item (shown in the middle of the pic) which I thought was an exact match. As it turns out, I was mistaken -- the cap on my old pump was a "single run" unit which is why it only has two terminals on top. This cap I purchased from Amazon is a "dual run" unit which means it is actually TWO capacitors in one -- one is 35uf and the other is 5uf. Just for comparison, on the left is a much larger 80uf 440 volt cap from my A/C unit (this is a spare). The idea with a dual-run cap is that rather than using two different caps, instead you can use one of these to hook up to your A/C compressor (which needs a higher capacitance rating like 35uf) and also the fan on the top of your condenser (which needs less, like 5uf).After realizing this, I thought I might have to return this mistakenly-ordered dual-run cap and get the correct single-run instead (oddly, the single-run cap was slightly more expensive than the dual-run unit). However, I discovered the dual run cap fit perfectly under the cover on my pool pump where the old cap was, so I decided to try hooking up the 35uf terminals to the pump to see if it would run. And of course, it ran PERFECTLY.As far as I can see, there is no adverse on my pump, which makes sense because this unit IS a 35uf capacitor....it just has an additional 5uf terminal that I'm not using. So bottom line -- it was totally my fault to order the wrong cap, but this actually worked to my advantage since this fits my pump and is actually cheaper than the "correct" cap. Seems like a win/win to me!
