It was hard to set up without a laptop. I had to use a laptop to update the devices software and to download the maps. Other than that, it’s really helpful. I like that you can call someone from your contacts on the GPS itself and even access music! Very modern calculator. Perfect for truckers and anyone who’s constantly on the road.

Out of the box was a very impressive unit, lots of features to it we’re connected to live Internet, bonus that this has the ability to pair with iPhones and or iPads or Apple products that have cellular signal for Wi-Fi and not drop the signal!! I’ll make a couple other. GPS is who I won’t mention that are aggravatingly not totally compliant with Apple products for Wi-Fi.!!!With that said, I found the GPS accuracy is fairly decent, it has multiple selections to give you a final destination and or if you’re doing a route your ETA to the route stop delivery time, and it does conveniently monitor your speed as you’re driving down the road and it does provide the speed zone that you’re currently driving in!When I got my unit, the battery life was zero, it took about four hours to get a good charge into it!Now here’s the issue - after two weeks of use, I started having it issue where it started crashing, then it started getting stuck in the power cycle. You know when it turns on and turns off.!Friendly it just ultimately stopped working and was in the power cycle no matter what I did to it!!I end up calling Garmin technical support, after dealing with us for two weeks and it was right at my 30 day mark, and Garman told me to contact Amazon and have them exchange it, so as of today, January 25, 2025. I am expected to receive a replacement sometime Sunday before I head out.Now this review will stand as it is pending better performance of the replacement unit!!!As of right now, I would say buyer beware and DRIVER… stay the h*ll away from it!!!

When set up on truck mode, it will solely keep you on truck routes I.e No low bridges, parkway etc. More features than the previous model I.e Upcoming truck stops, available spots, price of fuel etc. Easy to transfer data.

If you drive a big rig or any commercial truck….you will love this unit. You can enter your specific trucks dimensions and weights. This unit will do its best keeping you off road you shouldn’t be on. Love the overhead view of destinations like truck stops. You can preplan how to enter places before you arrive. Highly recommend for any trucker..

You can make the argument that Rand McNally makes a GPS that is “just as good if not better.” I’ve used both, ran them side by side across the country. I, personally, would say the Rand McNally are just as good in regards to mapping. Only because they both are pretty good but both will also make mistakes. I did have some issues with the Rand McNally blacking out at random, and freezing up. Tech support was difficult to get hold of and I got the typical “did you try unplugging it and plugging it back in?” So I exchanged it and still had some issues and decided to stay with Garmin. What sets Garmin above others, in my opinion, is the quality/reliability of the product and their customer service. I had a unit go out on me after 5 years of constant use. When I called in (initially for tech support) I was greeted by an English speaking American. So much easier to communicate with each other the information needed to resolve the issue. When all was said and done, my old gps was toast but my new one was on my doorstep within just a couple days.Made in America, employing Americans and standing behind their product is what makes me a loyal Garmin customer.

The gps works great no gimmicks or faults as of yet.Garmin issued a new update for the maps and it sucks bad. Tells me when I go through Baltimore that I’m on a restricted route no trucks allowed through the tunnel on I-95 lol. Traveled these roads for years and for the gps to stop routing me for a false road warning sucks. 4 stars for the gps itself can’t give a full 5 stars with this new update smh.

Honestly wish I hadn't missed the return window, I'd be trying something else (bought this as it pairs with the Garmin ELD). Took me through a crowded residential neighborhood for no reason and put me right back on the street I was already on, then told me to enter the freeway when I'm driving in between a field and a public school. Have had several instances of terrible instructions (leading me down a dead end road for example). When it works, it's fine. When it doesn't, I'm calling it every name in the book. Also I'm not 100% sure it's the culprit, but pretty sure this thing is draining my battery like twice as much as normal. Buyer beware

I really like this product and this one is great 👍. It is an upgrade to my older version with a larger screen and more features. The only drawback to me is that it requires data usage from my phone for traffic purposes which I don't subscribe to.
