This brush is great for dogs that shed and have a second coat. Our dog is a mutt terrier and during certain parts of the year his undercoat gets really bad to the point where you can hand pull it. While we get him groomed, it’s nice to have a brush to do some of it yourself. This brush is easy to hold and our dog doesn’t mind it like he does with some other brushes. It doesn’t seem to be too harsh while using but still pulls up the second coat really well. My only complaint is that it’s messy to use, so I would suggest using outside if possible. There’s also a deshedding spray that you can use to help as well. Yes the brush is expensive, but I feel like it’s better to buy one high quality brush rather h to an 5 brushes that don’t do a very good job.

This Furminator dog brush is the best brush I have used on my dog! He has medium length hair, a double coat, and sheds year round, so trying to keep my home dog hair free is a constant battle.I have been using this brush in combination with the Furminator deshedding shampoo and conditioner, and have seen great improvements in his shedding. I use this brush on him daily, and it removes a ton of hair every time.This Furminator brush glides through his hair easily, and removes a lot of his undercoat with each brush. It doesn't pull or catch in his hair at all, and he really enjoys his daily brushes.I use the Furminator no rinse deshedding spray once or twice a week, and it works well to keep him smelling fresh and clean. The scent is light, and doesn't bother my dog's nose. I spray him all over, then rub it into his fur with my hands. He is not a fan of bath time, so this spray is a good way to extend the time between each bath.

I've owned several products that seemed to be copying this one, but this is the first I've gotten of the original. It turned out to have the same problem as others that can't eject my dog’s silky fine hair. It works well otherwise, is fairly easy to use, and both dogs enjoy their brushing. The handle feels like it's more ergonomically designed and more heavy-duty than the copycats. The spray is a helpful addition that only one of the dogs would tolerate. The set just seems a bit pricey for the two items.

The FURminator Dog deShedding Bundle contains a deShedding tool for Medium Dogs weighing 25-50 lbs with Long Fur and a deShedding Spray. Directions say to brush first and then use the spray weekly. Not sure if the company is claiming that the spray will decrease amount of shedding or not, but it emphasizes that it neutralizes odors. Its scent is very light and smells fresh. It sprays easily and evenly with a good amount in each spray. I expected that handle of the tool to be larger. It fits my hands and I like that it is erogonomic with places for fingers, but my hands are smaller so not sure how it would fit larger hands. The tool is slightly heavier than expected by its size. At the time of this writing, price is also higher than what someone might expect to pay for these kinds of dog grooming products.

We have a dog with a double coat. It's great for getting the undercoat. Our dog looked much better after using this. Shedding has reduced dramatically.

The tool works well enough but it doesn't have a lock behind the keep the fur from flying off as you're brushing. I've used furminators in the past that would catch all the fur and then would come out if you unlocked the mechanism. The spray did a good job deodorizing her.
