So it took me about 5 different muzzles before finding this one, I have a 9 month boxer/pit mix puppy that is quite smart, since this muzzles uses a strap around the head he's unable to get out or claw out of this muzzle I tie the extra strap end to collar to prevent this. Only use this to calm him down, he's a very aggressive chewer.

Love this muzzle. Fits both of my pups perfectly and I finally feel safe/comfortable trimming their nails. Wasn’t sure about size since we have a 10lb and 20lb but it worked perfectly. Would definitely recommend!

This worked wonders until my Chihuahua got a hold of it, and then it was no longer able to buckle. Which brings me to my next point. If your dog is a chewer DO NOT use this product. It is easy to break apart, and the small piece could potentially become a choking hazard if left unattended. If you have larger dogs that do not chew and just need to train for barking, this will work just fine. It is comfortable, light weight, and my dog was still able to eat and drink until the straps were tightened, at which this provided a tighter more snug fit.

I bought this to discourage my pup from making a really bad doggy decision while being wrestled into the tub and held there against his will. He has never been aggressive, but sometimes we all feel like lashing out a bit when we're scared and just want to get away from the scary thing. He has a Baskerville muzzle he occasionally wears out in public with a harness that says "MUZZLE PROTECTS HIM FROM YOU" because a lot of people are really, really dog dumb. So, I see muzzles as a way to take away that option from a pup who might be scared and do an unpredictable totally out of character thing that can't be undone. And believe me, there is absolutely nothing in this world more scary than taking a BATH. My pup is a 125lb Anatolian Shepherd who has recently developed a skin and coat problem that requires baths, much to our shared displeasure. When I first took it out of the box, it didn't fit well. This improved a great deal when I turned it around and put it on properly. I'm glad there was a picture. After that it fit perfectly. It allowed him to open his mouth to breathe and eat lamb lung treats, but not enough to decide he would get out of the tub at any cost. It appears to be well made, but do to his long snout, it did seem to rub a little on his nose (see picture). It was $4.99 so a really great deal for something that hopefully we won't have to use for very much longer. I plan to use it when I trim his nails. I'm not sure this would be my first pick for a muzzle for safety out in public as I don't think it would be very comfortable and I suspect he may be able to get out of it and with his strength, plastic hardware always makes me a little nervous. I recommend the Baskerville for ultimate doggy safety. It has a strap on the bottom that can be connected to the dog's collar, making it much harder to get out of.

Excelente producto para mantenerlos quietos y sin ladrar... tengo una insoportable Golden que rompía todos los bozales y este ha aguantado muy bien

Good muzzle, fits my Collie perfectly although he can get it off if let off the lead. Word of warning, I had to re order as the clip fell off the end of the strap and got lost. Will stitch a fold in the end of the strap to stop it happening again, but would be good if the manufacturer took note.

I tried a basket style muzzle at first and was horrified when my dog's toe got stuck in the basket while trying to pull it off. She screamed so loud in the park I was looking for a hole to hide in. I promptly returned the basket version and bought this one to try. I am so glad I did. It is decent quality with a soft velvet like lining on the front rim on the nose. Because the outside is smooth, there is nothing for my dog to grip to pull onto. It is also streamlined so on a dark haired dog, you don't see the muzzle and I like the discreetness of it. Since the buckle is behind the ears, there is no way a dog can pull it off. Certainly mine tried and failed. It is also tough enough to stand up to abuse (my dog rubs it in the grass, snow and sand to try to take it off) and it is very easy to clean. The only small negative comment I have is the adjustable strap is way too long. I didn't want it to dangle so I cut it and burned the cut end with a torch. It finished nicely. It would have been even more perfect if there is a loop to catch the loose end to prevent it from dangling. I decided to tag it to the fixed end using a thread (light stitching using 3 stiches only) after fitting it to my dog so it doesn't become annoying. I can pull off the thread with minimal force if I need to and it just makes the strap neat.

For the price, I am very satisfied with this product. This product fits my boxer very well, which is hard to find for their short snouts. His snout was exactly 10 1/2" as is recommended for this product. He has not been able to get it off, although he has not tried very hard to get it off yet. If you get this for your dog, I would recommend that you view and follow the training tips on the video on youtube called "conditioning your dog to wear a muzzle." This method works well for teaching dogs to wear any type of muzzle.I bought this muzzle because my dog has a nervous aggression around people and other dogs. I have not tested it out with other dogs yet, but it has worked well at preventing him from nipping at people. To my suprise, it has actually calmed him down around new people. We have been doing training with him to expose him to more people, but he has still been very nervous and has occassionally nipped at our helpers. After using the muzzle to train him we were still able to let our guests give him small treats for his training, and without the fear that he would bite them. He has not even attempted to bite at our guests since we got the muzzle. Another advantage is that he is not able to bark very loudly when they come over when he is wearing this. The only thing I was initially worried about with the muzzle was the seams on the inside of the muzzle. I was afraid that it would rub on my dogs snout and rub it raw. Thus far it has not, but the longest that we have left the muzzle on him is about twenty minutes. I would not recommend leaving this product on long term as it does not allow the dog to open his mouth wide enough to pant very well. But he is able to drink and eat small treats with it on.Overall, I would recommend this product to someone if they are using it to restrain their dog from biting or barking for short amounts of time. For a dog that needs to wear it for longer amounts of time or will need to pant to keep cool, I would recommend looking into getting a basket muzzle that will allow the dog to pant more freely.Update: I've had this product for a while now (2-3 years?). It is holding up great! There are no tears or problems with it at all. I have noticed, especially when it is warm outside, it tends to get quite itchy on my dog. He will rub his face on the ground to try to itch under the muzzle and it does cause some redness around his snout from rubbing his face on the ground. Overall, I am still very happy with this purchase and it has brought a lot of peace of mind to us with our dog who still occasionally needs to wear his muzzle. Since Amazon won't let me enter a webpage link, try searching "Four Paws Quick Fit Muzzle Sizing Chart" in a search engine. The first link pulled up a sizing chart on the fourpaws website. Make sure to measure around your dogs snout at the widest area up by its eyes.
