This radio was a huge upgrade when our OEM radio went out on us. It was really straightforward to hook up, took around 30 minutes. Sounds great and at this price point, you cannot beat it.

So.... I bought this and installed it myself. I was very impressed with the easy installation. And the fact that it came with all the plugs I needed to hook it up. How ever I gave it 4 stars because it is any louder than my factory stereo. And the subwoofer connection only had 1 RCA when in reality you need to for RCA amp connection. Other than that? Was a good buy.

Cannot get Apple car play to function. Connects to Bluetooth but just tells me to connect via Bluetooth when I try to get car play to work. USB link also says failed to connect try another port. Seems like a waste of money if it doesn’t work as described.

2014 Ram 1500 Lonestar, with no steering wheel controls, and no factory back-up camera. This might not apply to you, but I posted my woes.First of all, let me state that this is a pretty nice unit, and works as advertised. Stereo sounds pretty darned nice, not as good as my home stereo, but still, pretty good. One of the supplied cables is a 4 or 6-pin connecter into the unit with the mini-USB connector. Plug this into your Truck's USB harness, and all of your USB functions WORK... nice.Installing the aftermarket back-up camera was... a problem. I uploaded pictures of communications with the Tech Support engineers. One of them is a picture of the wiring instructions in the manual for this item. After a few hours of banging my head, trying to make this work, I contacted Tech Support. (Very good TS).Their first instruction was to "Not follow the Printed Instructions".The wiring harness had a Brown wire (Aux Input), which was the only brown wire that could be hooked up to trigger the reversing camera. It was also the wrong one.Their second instruction: Do not hook the reversing camera RED to the Reversing Light (+).Instead connect the Reversing Camera RED (+) to the red (Courtesy?) wire attached to the yellow video cable.(Optional) Attach the Black camera power supply wire to a suitable ground. It may cause screen flickering. The camera WILL work without this connection, .At this point, wiring at the back of the vehicle is complete.Wiring into the unit:When you open the box, there are several modules to connect to the unit. Connect all of them (You may not need the GPS antenna, or the horn). For the discussion of the rear view camera, there is a 10-pin connecter with a yellow video input cable and the bluetooth and wifi antenna. This is where you plug your video from the camera in.To power the camera, you need to splice in to the third (Brown )wire on the power connector. The first two are the Black and Red wires. This is the wire that the unit sends voltage to the camera when the car is placed in REVERSE. Splice into this brown wire, and connect it the RED courtesy wire on the yellow video cable. So, the power map to the camera is: Head Unit->Brown Wire T-spliced to RED wire on video cable->back of the vehicle courtesy RED wire->Camera Red (+).I hope this saves you the several hours of time it took tech support and me to figure out.
