I workout 5 days a week doing a variety of cardio, weightlifting, yoga, and pilates. Stretching is important and although I feel I get that with my yoga end workout, my calves tend to ache a bit after a good leg workout. I decided to try this out and have personally found it effective.I have a women's shoe size of 5 1/2 to a 6, so my foot fits well on this. It's small in size so you can fit it out of the way easily. The device feels sturdy. Some may need wall support while using, but it is easy to control. It provides a nice stretch to the calf area and has really helped me after a hard workout. It states it supports up to 250lbs and a size 12 shoe size. Shoes are required and, as stated, wall support for some may be needed, so I wouldn't recommend this for everyone. It's still a handy device however, and one I would recommend for some individuals.

We are a family of runners and although this product isn't something we NEEDED, it's nice to have. By this, I mean that you could get a similar stretch to putting your foot up against the wall for free. However, being able to watch TV or have a conversation with someone while stretching and not having to look at the wall is kind of a nice option as well. It also allows you to get a little deeper into the stretch by leaning more forward.Pretty sturdy (I've had family already trip over this multiple times since it gets left in the middle of the room...) and a nice way to get a stretch in. Easy to control how much you want to stretch. If you don't have good balance, I would suggest using this next to a tall chair or next to the wall so you have something to hold on to. But for the most part, we can all use this to stretch in the middle of the room.

In all fairness, I have to say that this calf-stretcher does exactly what it's supposed to do: You plant your (rubber-soled) foot in it, rock it back and forth, and loosen up some foot and leg muscles. I can definitely feel it in the tib area and I never felt like my foot would slide off the rocker or that the rocker itself would slide on the floor (due to a couple of rubber strips on the bottom).Unfortunately, I have to dock it a star because this only properly accommodates shoe sizes of up to 12. I'm a 13, so I could kinda sorta get in there, but I knew I wasn't getting the right experience, and therefore I probably won't be able to get much use of this. I realize there has to be an upper limit, but 12 seems just a touch skimpy to me, considering the physical stature of a lot of the people who could benefit from this. A solid product if it's right for you, though!

This NEXFIT Calf Stretcher definitely takes calf stretching to the next level. It is recommended for shoes sizes up to size 12 and for individuals up to 250 pounds. The company recommends rubber soled shoes for safety. To use step on the calf stretcher with your heel on the heel plate (Nexfit logo side) and your foot on the foot plate, rock the stretcher back and forth to stretch your calf, hold stretch for 30 seconds. There are rubber slip resistant strips at the bottom of the calf stretcher and cleaning is easy, just wipe down with a damp cloth. This looks easier than it is! It is not difficult but it takes balance.Until now I have been using metal slant boards for calf stretches on my leg work-out day. I will now be adding this calf stretcher to my weekly routine. I definitely feel the stretch while rocking on it. It will also help me with better balance. It is a simple tool but one that can definitely help!4 1/2 stars!UPDATE:- One month into using the calf stretcher the heel of rocker broke off. 😢 I only weigh 135 pounds and am not a heavy person. I only used it 4 times on my leg work-out day. Very disappointed! Bringing rating down from 4 1/2 to 3 stars. The concept is great but the construction is poor.UPDATE:- I reached out to the seller and they were VERY responsive. They sent me a new calf stretch and I am beyond happy. I love how this works and never had a rocker before. I have been doing calf raises for many years and this takes it to a new level. 5 stars!

Retired wellness coach here. I wanted to test this as a recovery or conditioning tool, especially compared to the standard tool, a slant-board.In a sentence? I wasn't impressed with this stretcher as a stretching or recovery tool. But, it may be good for ankle strengthening for sports like runners or soccer. Not a great stretcher or recovery tool:- You have to wear shoes. (The heel guard hurts if done in socks or barefoot.)- You have to be careful and controlled and should use wall support. It is very easy to jerk and possibly pull something at you try to keep your balance and stretch. If you are nursing a recovery area, this is not a good option.- A slant-board provides even support. But by not supporting the middle area of your foot, it can put extra work into other areas of the foot, encouraging problems with metatarsal strain, plantar fasciitis, or Achilles tendon issues.May be good as an ankle strengthener:- This stretcher puts more emphasis on balance than the calf stretch. Your ankle has to stabilize as you move into flexion.- Assuming you are training and not recovering, if you start on one leg and slowly go into the stretched position I could see how this would train your ankle stabilizers to work while going through a proper gait cycle. (Essentially a weighted point-flex through range of motion.)
