They weren’t really what I was expecting. The boards themselves aren’t very sturdy. The ones they had at the dollar tree were better quality to be honest. I used them because it was my only option. I don’t think I’d buy them again.

It is very sturdy for posterboard, not a foam type of board. If you have a smaller project this will work perfectly. Worth the price

These were definitely not 5×7, I bought them to mount 5x7 pictures. 7 yes, 5 no. See picture for visual of 1/4 inch short.

These boards weren't exactly what I expected, but I might order them again. They are a very lightweight, foam board that can flex a bit, but not bend. Both sides are smooth, possibly coated - the foam texture does not come through. The boards are about 3/16's of an inch thick. I ordered the 12" by 16" size - the actual size is roughly 11.75" by 15.5", so slightly smaller than advertised. For my purposes, this wasn't an issue, but it is the reason for my 4-star rating.As far as actually using these foam boards, I had a limited use case in mind, so take the rest of this review with a grain of salt. Full disclosure - I am not a particularly gifted or experienced artist - in fact, using the word "artist" might be a stretch.I ordered these to try out as a "canvas" of sorts. I was curious to see how they'd work for drawings of various types. I tested a range of highlighters, sharpies, pens and pencils. Highlighters, sharpies and other markers work nicely and dry quickly, but don't expect to correct mistakes, or use techniques that require smearing or blending. Once the ink is down, it is down - in that regard, the surface of these boards is not forgiving, at least not for markers. As for pens and pencils, the surface is too soft for anything but the softest leads and most easily flowing inks. Even then, the hardness of a lead or pen point is going to leave a dent or track in these boards - if a light touch is used to avoid marring the surface, chances are it will be insufficient to leave line or shading on the surface.I haven't tested water color or oil paints. I'd like to. I suspect oils will behave on these boards, but I'm not so sure about water colors. I may update this review at some future point, but my initial impression is that wouldn't use these boards for oils or water colors. That has as much to do with how well I expect the surface to take oils and water colors as it does with the durability of the resulting work. Having said that, if you have children, I can see these being a wonderful canvas for finger painting.Would I order these again? I depends on the project. These boards are perfect for creating temporary posters. I can envision other uses. Someone with more artistic imagination than I have might have a field day with these boards. Regardless, they are fun to fiddle with and suitable for a limited set of applications. With those caveats, yes, I'd order them again. I'd also order them if I found myself in need of a way to entertain children for an hour or two (or three).

Exactly what I needed for my craft project. These are very light weight foam boards which cut like butter with a scalpel. Perfect for my miniature house project. You get 5 boards for a good price. Came very well packaged and undamaged.

I wanted something to give structure to a large cardstock image I had created. This worked perfectly. Lightweight and easy to cut. Came very well packaged so there was no damage to any of the boards. Highly recommend.
